Maybe...
But if we do manage to pull it all off, how sweet would it be if we were able to knock the Hawks out of finals contention, beat Collingwood in another prelim, and then break the Saints hearts on GF day again along the way :D
Re: Will He Go?: Gary Ablett had weekend talks with Gold Coast
If Ablett has issues with the club that go back to treatment of players back in the 80's and 90's, i seriously doubt he would have even come to play for us in the first place.
He has spent his whole life around the club, and with...
Re: Wojcinski must decide on one-year contract by November 13
I'd say there are probably a couple of others approaching 30 who would be on more $$ who would go on the veterans list before Wojo.
Considering Chapman stood down from the leadership group at the start of the year, i doubt he would be a likely candidate for captain. As for Mackie, he might take Harley's place in the leadership group, but i couldn't see them giving him the captaincy straight away.
You would think the new...
Re: So why are you actually a cats fan?
This is the exact same day i started barracking for the cats, and i was 6 at the time as well! We went to watch the GF at my uncles house, who was a mad Hawthorn supporter. He said he wouldn't let me in unless i was going to barrack for the Hawks, so of...
Re: Bomber says "Stokes will play"
If i was Stokes i would be hesitant to put my hand up for selection unless i was pretty damn confident of being able to have a good game.
If he plays, the pressure will be huge considering:
1. he would have taken somebody's spot who probably equally...
We're not accusing the Saints of anything, the cats were just as pumped to get through in 07.. just noticing the cats last night were well aware that the job was only half done.
I thought last weeks pies/crows finish was awesome, because you knew anything could happen, and it did... tonight's game didn't have the same feel, i was just sitting there waiting for it to end.
But there wasn't even a 'winning' goal... even if Riewoldt didn't get the last one, you just knew that the bulldogs weren't going to get one in the time left given the 10+ minutes it was taking each team to score
For a final that was so close you would expect to be sitting on the edge your seat towards the end, but because goals were so few and far between there wasn't much to get excited about.
Re: how do we win the premiership thread
Ablett spending time playing forward is great... but we can't pin our hopes on one player... as he demonstrated last grand final, he can't win it on his own. We need our whole forward line to be functioning well to get a winning score. They need to start...
Re: how do we win the premiership thread
I think that even without SJ and Chappy we have the talent to go all the way, as long as the 22 players on the ground in each game go hard and work for each other for the full 4 quarters.
Unfortunately we have only seen this occur in small patches all...
Re: Our finals game is definitely gonna be on the Saturday
Centrebet have had a market for this since last week.. and you're right.. cats 1.87 v pies 1.93
It's not like Harley could have single-handely won the game if he moved onto Brown or Bradshaw, so why not throw some of the younger guys in the deep end to gain some experience in a match where the outcome wasn't going to have any bearing on our ladder position etc.
Has nothing to do with his...
Awesome game despite the result. Good to see the boys fire up (loved the toughness shown from Mooney & Rooke) and hopefully if we meet again this year they can use today as a bit of a motivator to come out charging from the very first bounce.
Bomber mentioned the fluctuations in their game in his post match interview and said that they wouldn't be able to do that next week.
If anything, its probably keeping some of the attention and pressure off us... no need to make a statement by thrashing anyone we can, just keep churning out...
From the Addy:
Hinkley said ruckman Brad Ottens was still a possibility of returning from a knee injury next week against Port Adelaide.
"Otto's getting really close, he's running now. Early days we only thought he was going to be missing for two or three weeks and that's extended out to a...
What are your opinions on Jetta? He caught my eye in tonights game V Lions, and i was surprised to realise he is only a first year player.
I'm not a Melbourne supporter, but Pettered looked pretty good tonight too.
My first was a Bulldogs game against maybe the Saints sometime in the early 90's.. they used to come to our school now and then and give out free tickets...
But then we moved up to Qld and i only managed to see my first live Cats game in 2007!
Although we did get them up here for a few...
