Very quiet Rissoles,
What match ups are you looking forward to this weekend?
Who is your tip?
Likely best on ground winner? Smokey?
Where will it be won and lost?
Seniors.
NOBS V Peninsula by 17 points
Old Geelong V Whitefriars by 45 points
Reserves:
Old Geelong V Peninsula by 10 points
MHSOB V Whitefriars by 26 points
North Old Boys have recruited the services of Matthew Firman as a Playing Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.
Would have thought along with last year's placing this would put them flag favourites very early on....
I am going to have to disagree with both tips too.
Banyule V NOBS - too much run and carry for the Bears.
Banyule V Whitefriars - the omission of the seniors will help them bulk up stocks.
Banyule by 10 points - Whitefriars won't play finals, Banyule are the dark horse for finals.
NOBS by 24 points - Mentone will lift a little after a disastrous start. NOBS a bit of a kick up the backside.
Parkdale by 60 points - have to bounce back strongly surely.
Peninsula by 66 points- will...
Well, after a few months of Michael Clarke bashing. Round One has arrived.
Predictions:
NOBS V Peninsula by 3 points - two finalists from last season should slog it out again. But i think NOB will be just good enough, only tipping because of the home ground advantage.
Friars V Mentone by 1...
I agree with Down at Gillon - If Old Paradians only had a couple of their best players out they are in for a long year, NOBs had about 8-10 walk up players to come back in... OPs certainly won't be playing finals in 2011.
I believe NOBs - providing all players remain fit and healthy should be...
Get with the times Kreuzering.
Why would anyone play Ammos if Job Networking wasn't done.
The clubs in A Grade have the best networking. The clubs in D4 have the worst network. Pretty Simple.
Sounds like Whitefriars are in for a long season with few recruits.
Well, we are about a month out from the Season, and all that has happened is Parkdale have replaced Werribee as the wank as of this forum and probably the Division...
Who is everyone playing in the practice matches?
North Old Boys will be coming up against AJAX, Paradians and St Marys...
SO it would appear that these blokes are playing at the lowest level of their careers. I am assuming that they are now also at their lowest level of individual performance and also that their attitude it is fair to say won't not nearly be as high. I am tipping 1/2 these players will be out...
TT - did you see them play against Werribee at home this year!!!? dreadful.
- although i do believe they have a fair chance if they are on their day against Monash - i think whoever has a day out will win.
- both matches these two have played in have been wet.
- Not sure what NOBS are...
I would have thought Matty Keown from NOBSPC would be well and truly in the running - can tear a game apart the big man!
But Smyth is a very good player and would start favourite and Florence has built himself a reputation for vote getting. Don't forget Snow from Mentone or even the goalkicking...
Trevor - i agree, 3 teams fighting for promotion only, don't think anyone can take the flag away from Werribee...
Trevor - who would you rather play after you lose to Werribee - NOBS or Peninsula.
Who do you think will win NOBs Peninsula - NOBS are 2-0 (just the second time around) I think...
Good luck to Werribee in the coming finals, i am not so sure we'll meet you again for this year the way the NOBS boys are travelling, still a little bit of hope, riding on this week's match. Hopefully you go through so we don't travel to Werribee next year.
TT - please don't suggest the public...
I have also witness all of the above, except for the initial point.
Bocce, NOBS played poorly, they turned the ball over consistently. Credit to Werribee pressure. I don't suspect NOBS will ever beat Werribee in 2010. But if you think that was them at their best you are mistaken and i think...
Have seen them twice, yes. They are an extremely good side for D1. Only question on them is the level of depth. But if they keep on chugging then it won't be an issue.
It is a shame that they were so hopeless for how good they were in the 2009 finals campaign as D1 would be very even without...
NOBS V Werribee by 42 points
Williamstown V BT by 27 points
Monash V Aquinas by 60 points
Menton V Whitefriars by 19 points
Peninsula V SMD by 78 points.
SMD V NOBS by 66 points
Friars V Werribee by 39 points
Aquinas V Williamstown by 10 points
Old Mentone V Monash by 10 points
BT V Peninsula by 10 points
Do you think if Bees, Peninsula, NOBS and Monash all win this weekend then all the top 4 is complete? seems to be the case. Monash and Peninsula - one of them may get rolled this week though. As both are away at grounds where the home ground advantage is a big one.
Great new to hear the NOBS boys got the job done! it seemed incredible with about half the side missing (no disrespect to Monash, i'm sure they had some boys out too, shows the depth of the two sides as from reports it was a hard fought slog) -
Similar to Mazenod - NOBS are currently 6 from 6 at...
NOBS V Monash by 1 point
Peninsula V Aquinas by 73 points
Werribee V SMD by 112 points
Bulleen Temp V Old Mentone by 15 points - if NOBS and BT win - could shape the top four very early???
Whitefriars V Willy by 40 points
Everything going well done at the Alec Gillon Reserve (besides the surface itself - disappointing) with a fair spring in the step of many...
Was great to see the young side link up and play good footy in the wet on saturday and even more promising was the fact a few big names of the North Old...
