Banyule by 10 points - Whitefriars won't play finals, Banyule are the dark horse for finals.

NOBS by 24 points - Mentone will lift a little after a disastrous start. NOBS a bit of a kick up the backside.

Parkdale by 60 points - have to bounce back strongly surely.

Peninsula by 66 points- will bounce back also, Parade for the spoon.

Williamstown by 1 points - OGS to scare them, just scrape through on their awful playing ground. Not sure why they play here, must be a better setup somewhere around Williamstown. It is a Cow Paddock.

Banyule by 45 points. Very strong at home.
Parkdale by 111 points. Might be more.
Peninsula by 75 points. Far to strong.
Nobs by 80 points. Mentone were horific by all reports.
Williamstown by 60 points. They are the real deal.

Friars taking absolutely nothing away from their 72 point win over Mentone who couldn't even field a full twos team. They are certainties to be religated and are a good oppourtunity to reward your best U19 players with a game in the seniors against.

Also very dissapointing to see only 3 Mentone players have a drink after the game. You can expect to see every senior player from the Friars have a drink in opposition clubs rooms regardless of what has happened on the field.

all of omfc players in after match drinks at friars in there rain swept tent, 40 players and supporters there and were not even thanked for coming back while the whitefriars drunks yelled out to delay the reports, looking forward to return bout

What!? Im simply shocked that Kruzering's post was (again) inaccurate

My thoughts for Round 2.

Williamstown vs Old Geelong
Parkdale vs Bulleen Templestowe
Old Mentonians vs North Old Boys
Peninsula vs Old Paradians
Banyule vs Whitefriars

The Fearon is a real home ground advantage for Willy, with that flukey wind or howling gale !! most opposition sides dont know how to play it.
Willy love hearing sides whinge and moan about playing on the Fearon
a cow paddock it may be, but it sure has helped Willy win many games over the decades !!

Very frustrating day at Banyule in one of the worst and most over umpired days of footy you will ever encounter from umpires who should never be seen above Division 4 again. Was about 92 free kicks (78 to Banyule) for the day and 15 25m penalties (all to Banyule). Then again when the umpires cant even remember their gear and go out there dressed like a club umpire then well what can you expect?

Anyway Banyule are a very classy side, great skills for Division 1 and will be a very strong chance of continuing their climb up the grades

Or possibly Friars needed to change the way the approached the contest??? Was not at the game but surely if it really is that bad then the coaching staff need to speak up and get a little discipline into their side. The umpires are not going to be fantastic down here so may be time to deal with it!

You see some bad umpiring, but when a player kicks the ball in, umpire looks downfield at play showing nothing wrong with kick in, opposition player yells out over the line, umpire goes alright then and blows the whistle...

Given I have sat in umpires rooms whilst they have abused Whitefriars and seemed to enjoy them losing, not sure what Friars can do...

Besides as stated if an umpire cant even remember their gear, then you wonder why they are in D1? Or maybe he just felt in debt to the home side for providing his uniform for the day...

went down to gerry green reserve on the weekend to watch the vultures in action, and couldnt help but notice watching the reserves with chad ryan and tobin? playing d1 reserves?they where playing A section and 19 premeir division last year,is this is a fitness issue?great win buy the vultures from both teams, will be a formidable side this year, definatly in the top 4,but can they match up to williamstown and the old boys from geelong?

over and out.

DOn't for one moment think I am backing the men in white however 15 x 25m penalties all against spells big trouble amongst the playing group!

Not when they are for crap like when players run off their mark by about 5 metres, get tackled, oh he didnt play on, 25m penalty

Of course was quite funny when later in the day a friars player takes a mark, tries to go back and gets tackled, oh nothing wrong with that...

Even though they were getting them all their way, the Banyule players admitted the umpiring was a joke at one stage when they had a free kick awarded to them 10m out from goal for something extremely soft

A lot of whinging coming out of Donvale. Forget about the umpires and get on with it.
Any reports from any of the games. By the sounds of it Parkdale were miles to good and Willi were very good again. I believe these two sides to be th benchmark at the moment. Interesting to see who else will stand up and pressure these two.

first of all scoop, you didnt answer my question so why reply and i just had a look on the vafa website and tobin was 2nd best and ryan must of been stiff because i thought he played better, maybe keeping the guns down at the vultures very quiet?have way through this season the vultures could completly blow d1 apart

rodger that scoop?

over and out

Yes , I also found my way down to Green Reserve on Saturday Afternoon, to find young Jesse Tobin and chad Ryan dominating in the D1 reserves. I was told they were available to play the week before, but the club elected not to play them. Obviously due to lack of fitness. Perhaps Parkdale are saving these 2 Guns for the Finals later in the year.

Im really excited with this division this year..A watchful eye on the Parkdale Vultures this year! Picked up a few old and young talent in the off-season, very very exciting stuff.. i agree with the dominance of J Tobin and C Ryan in the reserves.. much to my surprise C ryan was playing in the reserves. I didnt observe much of his football years whilst at st bedes footy club! (because i personally dont like the club) but was amazed with his talent when playing with the ruthless EDI ASP EAGLES threw his Juniors....Cant imagine such a talent be playing in the reserves come round 3..

Adrian Spinoso from Old Paradians, will have a massive year and is a player to look out for..also another player who dominated threwout his juniors.

"im awesome"
