    Toast Josh Gibson 200 Games

Tough, skilful and smart, Gibbo seems to be the appointed back 6 captain and spokesman. Our mids and forwards might dominate the highlights but that backline has been awesome for the last five years and Gibbo has been a constant. Reckon he's played a big role in developing the right sort of...

    Game Day Hawthorn v Swans

We support a champion club. The team will do us proud regardless of the result. Go the Mighty Hawks.

    Autopsy Hawks vs Tuggers

Big upside for TOB, Brand, Howell and Lovell. Sicily will need to do more to keep his place but is at least providing a relief marking option on wing/halfback. We have to give all of these guys more games, Box Hill minutes just won't bring them up to speed. We gave away 3 consecutive goals in...

Autopsy Hawks vs Saints - tear it apart here

Just watched the last qtr on AFL replay. TBH pretty surprised after reading this forum and listening to the radio. Played at least as well as our opponents and maybe could've iced the game early were it not for some easy misses and dropped marks. A few players a bit fumbly but Saints work rate...

    Preview Semi-Final: Hawthorn v Adelaide Crows, MCG, 18 September 2015 @ 7.50pm

Love Jedi, but reckon a lack of continuity pre-season wise has taken it's toll, not sure he has the strength or endurance for an AFL final at present, he certainly didn't make a big impression earlier in the year. Since then he's copped a few injuries at Box Hill so I don't think he's ready...

Will we make the 2015 GF

All Hawks supporters should commit to this noble cause. One of the funnier posts this year.

Preview Qualifying Final - Hawks vs West Coast - Friday night

Saw Cyril 1pm cnr Smith and Johnston Sts, Fitzroy on Friday. Looked well and happy, no way he had gastro. If we can deliver our A game against the Weagles we will win.

    Autopsy Essendon v Hawthorn

Sicily and O'Rourke showed they may have what it takes but are another pre-season away in terms of strength and endurance. We know Anderson can do it, but another pre-season may be required for a 4 quarter effort.

All the nice little things about winning the 2014 Premiership

All the nice little things about winning the 2014 Premiership

Crossed the street on Thursday, on the way back from lunch break and passed a bloke in a Hawks cap, Back to Back shirt and one runner brown, one runner yellow. Sat down at my desk with a big smile. End of lunch break, who bloody cares?

Ultimate Glory JON O'RAWK is now a Hourke

Agree. He's a loper, but after a bottle of red I can see a bit of Mundy when I really squint my eyes....

Little Creatures Pale Ale, sunny Melbourne afternoon, last quarter being replayed on 774. Bliss. What a club.

Ultimate Glory Hawks vs Swans - We take flag number 12 - our greatest flag - The Hard Way.

They are calling the Swan's performance an "aberration" on the radio. You effing kidding me??!! Cannot stand how our victories are discredited by the media. We smashed them, bent them, twisted them till the game was played exclusively on our terms. No aberration. They were dominated. Watch it...

Game Day 2014 Australian Football League Grand Final: $ydney $wans v Hawthorn, MCG, 2.30pm

Liam Shiels - Steady as she goes or do we want to see a bit more from him?

AFL site reporting that Hodgey broke Shiels' nose in the last quarter. Mustn't be ready to give up the captaincy just yet....

Preview Hawks vs the COLA $wans and the man they call Juda$ - it's the big dance.

Wasn't at the game. Was Stratts on Chad? Will reconsider my assessment. Thought he, Gibbo and Lakey were pretty schmaverage for a lot of the game. Can't fathom how we're going to deal with Buddy.

Autopsy Hawks vs The Party Pies...cold and soggy.

Gunston spent a fair bit of time in the back line towards the end of the game, main job seemed to be spoiling the forwards. Did a fair job too. Wonder if Clarko was experimenting for a worst case scenario or it was deemed necessary because Lake was off the ground?

News Hawks lock in young star Litherland

Thought he was 23 or so. 21! Plenty of time to get even better. Kudos to the recruiting department, they've made the most of slim pickings.

Luke Hodge - where is he at?

Playing very good footy at present, making a lot of contests and looking fit. Good signs.

Game Day Adelaide v Hawthorn, 7.50pm at Adelaide Oval

Hawthorn was poor at the contested ball against Norf, think we will respond. I wouldn't want to be in the way of Hodge, Lewis, Langford tonight.

    Your thoughts on Liam Shiels

Thought he was one of our top three in the wet against GC, conditions bought out all his best attributes. Gutsy, good football brain, team oriented. A smidge more polish with disposal is all that's required. Still think he's improving on that front. Lots to like.

Preview Hawks vs Gold Coast - ins, outs, and all discussion

Maybe Hill will get the red vest. Fits the mould for our usual sub: hard running, potential to sneak a goal or two. Suits the role better than Suckers and Hill could do with a shorter game, has busted a gut all year. Reckon Suckers is playing for his spot this weekend.

Universal Love The best little things about having won the flag

I think we originally underestimated what a good footballer Hill is. Win a beep test and everyone wonders how you could possibly have that sort of athleticism and be a champion footballer. It doesn't seem fair somehow. But Hill has a good footy brain, plays with a calmness beyond the number of...

Universal Love The best little things about having won the flag

Having a sneaky look at the Qualifying final on Smart Replay as the family unwind for the festive season. Bliss. Who woulda thunk Hill could've kicked that first one from about 45 metres out? Good hoof for a fella better known for his endurance and short passing. Much to look forward to in 2014.

I was wrong about Al Clarkson.

Quality post Bosk. Reckon Clarko thinks "3 time premiership coach" has a better ring to it than "2 time premiership coach." By coaching standards he's still pretty young. As previous posters have detailed, Clarko had a mighty 2013, changed a few things, went outside the square. Whenever we...

Loved Hodgie's work yesterday. Commanded the troops, played smart and fought like a caged animal. Great captain's game. Dips my lid to Liam Shiels too. Nice tackling son!

    Toast Buddy's GF

Watched the replay and OP is 100% correct. Threw himself at every contest like a man playing his last game of football. I'm sure Bud would love to win the Coleman again, but in 2013 he accommodated Clarko's gameplan for the greater good and knuckled down to play a new role. It's this...
