The umpires seem to have reduced their leniency recently to players defending the mark inside the '9' metre goal square imaginary line where previously they gave them quite a bit of latitude to overrun the 9 when there was a mark within before they retreated. Is it time to adjust the field...
If you actually did it and the game got played the team would be disqualified afterward I imagine, in addition to a 'bringing the game into disrepute' charge
Edit:
10.6.1 Entry on Playing Surface
Where a person(s) enters the Playing Surface when they are not authorised to do so, the field...
Agree
From my memory (not totally sure, can't find video) Pratt kicked it to himself intending to run past Lloyd along the boundary line. Lloyd cut him off and forced him back toward the goals and as Lloyd was about to tackle him (or did tackle him?) Pratt handballed back over the line. I...
They have changed the rule since then though. Originally the deliberate rushed behind rule was the same as the deliberate out of bounds rule (i.e. even if you are under pressure it is still deliberate). Later on they changed it to if you are under pressure you can rush a behind (which basically...
It all comes down to te ridiculous way the point system is graded. It could have a huge force but if there is no lasting injury to the player, the impact is "low" or "none".
On the other hand even if there is low force but the player has an injury (broken something, etc), force is "high" or...
Just when I thought things couldn't get any crazier:

Surely this is a joke? I'm happy to have trial rules and gimmick rules in the preseason, but please just leave the premiership season alone...
25m penalty for minor offences (holding on, over the mark, interchange infringement, etc) and the umpire can double it for serious breaches.
EDIT: beaten haha
It's just rules being brought in to fix problems that previous rules created. Unfortunately the AFL are too pig-headed to just reverse the previous rule change that caused the issue in the first place.
They were the ones who brought in the rule a few years ago that whenever the umpire calls...
Found this in the staging article on The Age:
I heard this was being considered but this seems like it has been escalated. What a terrible change if this comes in.
I think a major cause for the longer quarters is the increasing amount of time between when a goal is kicked and the ball is...
Umpiring all season has been laughably bad (or would have been if it wasn't deciding games). Unfortunately it seems to be getting worse.
Lucky we have Geischen to justify all the calls on "What's Your Decision"
The 3 men in green embarrassed themselves today. I can honestly say that was the worst umpired game I have ever seen. We had a few bad calls/non calls against us but Brisbane were incredibly hard done by. The inconsistency in the decisions was baffling.
I'm not saying i agree with it. I'm pretty sure it's in the pre-season sponsorship agreement. When Wizard were the sponsors the umps always wore orange.
