Moved Thread Bailey Smith vs Sam Walsh

Still love Smith but gee whiz Walsh is just going next level. Clearly Carltons best player this year and he's certainly surprised me with work rate and strength around the contest, I noticed round1 how hard he was to tackle and he just keeps brushing aside tacklers. Looks like he'll end up a...

Moved Thread Bailey Smith vs Sam Walsh

I think the fact that Carlton said Stocker was at 6 on their ratings board shows they didnt even look at any of the talls, understandable really given you look set for talls at both ends if Curnow can get on the park. Smart the way Carlton did it, draft the talls first in the rebuild as they...

Moved Thread Bailey Smith vs Sam Walsh

Honestly Bailey Smith is an absolute jet, fast becoming my favourite non Richmond player, he's already pretty much the bulldogs most damaging midfielder in a team that had 2 AA midfielders and was unlucky not to have 3. Power, finesse, and I love players that are constantly looking to get at...

    Fyfe vs Dusty

I think Richmond have the luxury of playing Martin in the most damaging role possible, Fyfe still mainly has to fill the most urgent need. Different players and not much seperating them, If roles were reversed and we had Fyfe and Dusty was at Freo I think universally Fyfe would be rated better...

    R.Nahas vs K.Harper

Harper would want to hope he turns out better than Robbie or he has seriously underperformed. If you cant have a better career than a 60kg rake with absolutely no left foot, poor handball, no marking skills and questionable defensive workrate then you must be struggling.

Flashback: Robert Harvey or Shane Crawford

I would go Harvey quite comfortably. As has been mentioned for those 2 years he was Clearly the best midfielder in the comp, untaggable the way Ablett is now. Crawford although excellent was never regarded as being one of the top handful of midfileders of his day. Good Poll though but for me...

Richmond to make top 4, or Brisbane to make top 8?

I dont think there was anything over the top in my original post, I was only pointing out that we werent as far away this year as outright results indicated. I've been around long enough to have seen plenty of false dawns. Having said that, I50 differential, contested possies differential...

Richmond to make top 4, or Brisbane to make top 8?

Yes I apologise you are correct, I didnt realise saints had more scoring shots than us in a game we won. I never said bad kicking was good football, what it shows is that "hopefully" we are not that far away. Just need a little more composure in both finishing and delivering the ball inside...

Richmond to make top 4, or Brisbane to make top 8?

If Richmond had of kicked as straight as their opposition every game this year they would have made top 4, hopefully we are not that far away. I can't say I rate Brisbane highly, probably cause we have beat them comfortably recently, even in Brisbane.

    Sidebottom v Martin v Beams v Zaharakis

Beams has certainly reached a level beyond the others this year and will be a worthy AA selection. I think Martins pure numbers will be down this year as he spends so much time in the forward line and a lot of that out of the square at FF. Once our forward line starts functioning a bit better...

Dustin Martin vs Delidio vs Cotchin

I just wish there was some way we could have all three......

    Bryce Gibbs or Trent Cotchin?

Depends how you interpret the Poll. If you ask "Who has been better so far?" then Gibbs is clearly infront. If you ask "Who is a better player right now?" then they are both pretty even in different ways. And if you ask "Who is likely to be the better player?" Cotchin would get the nod...

Who do you tag? Cotchin, Deledio or Martin? Opposition fans please.

I don't think people realize that Martin has a faster 20m sprint time than Lids, certainly no waddler. I also believe he will eventually become a full time forward, but probably not till he is close to 30.

Who do you tag? Cotchin, Deledio or Martin? Opposition fans please.

You would think most second year players would be susceptible to being tagged, unfortunately for Dusty he is in the .001% of second year players good enough to be tagged.

    Jack Riewoldt vs James Frawley

My favorite post ever....:thumbsu::thumbsu: HAD continually bags Jack and then changes the stats to suit his argument, then sooks when someone shows him hes actually wrong. Well played Monkey King......

Dustin Martin v Trent Cotchin v Nathan Fyfe

Very astute, well thought out post with some real insight. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Knights 10 v Hird 11 - who will win more games?

Why shouldn't we be able to when the Essendon board clearly did, they compared what Knights was doing to what they thought Hird would do and chose Hird. No we get the benefit of seeing what Hird can do rather than just guessing so we are all able to make a more valid judgement.

Who will win the 2011 Rising Star?

I would think whoever wins will have beaten the strongest field in the awards history.
