Norm smith is THE MEDAL. The other ones are solely individual awards. The Norm Smith is an individual award but it also means you've had team success. Which is we as supporters really want, it's been too long.

Chris Judd and my winning bet of Syd/Judd slightly kills your theory, but I agree mate, majority of the time this happens.

P.S. on the topic, I rewatched the GF and do not rate Johannisen one bit for BOG. So many turnovers! J.Kennedy all the way, 3rd Qtr was amazing

Agree 1000% re jk and Johanissen.

Johanissen should have been covered in blood from his day long butchering.

my pick for the Norm Smith would have been Liam Picken. Pretty much grabbed the dogs and dragged them over the line.
Would have been a better choice than JJ. Kennedy would have been my choice.

Good to see, we want him playing for 10+ years not breaking down after his first couple. Though having said that Parish didn't struggle all that much in playing the majority of his first year, same as Heppell. If he's performing every week, you pick him every week.

They are being cautious but if he can handle the load he should play, he has been an athlete nearly all his life I think he would have a good idea about work loads and how much he can do.

It's no rush but if he is fit to play then he plays, every player handles their first year differently but I honestly don't see him breaking down and he could easily play as much as Parish did last year

Yup and if they're worried about the load, it's pretty simple just play him down back and maybe rotate him up forward or something. No need to expose him in the midfield just yet.

You think worsfold might be trying to alleviate some pressure on the kid?

He's just trying to lower expectations, calm the media hype down and let the kid play. Whether that's the 1s or 2s first up won't matter if the media aren't banging on all preseason about a round 1 debut.

Looking forward to seeing him in the 1s tho..

I thimk Callum Mills is a good example of what role McGrath will play for us this year.

He'll be able to handle the load, but a part of me also thinks that it is due to the high competition for games on our list

Why does McGrath need the kid gloves if Parish didn't?

Seems strange. I'd hope that we didn't just play Parish last year out of necessity.
Ralph's tweeted today that we'll need to be patient with him. He'll take time.
