Was playing excellent footy locking down the opponents best small forward and has average at best since being moved to a more attacking role.

The addition of Kelly to the backline kills hims.

Get rid of Kelly. McGrath becomes the stopper and you bring in somebody else (Hind at the moment but long-term someone else) to be the attacker.

I am a Hind fan. He makes things happen

Wouldn’t mind seeing Caldwell trialled off hbf. Things happen when he kicks the footy.

What stood out to me at the game was after that handball to perkins which he dropped that resulted in an instant bulldogs goal... perkins dropped his head and McGrath just walks off holding his hips. No leadership there getting to the younger player and reassuring him. Seen Collingwoods leaders in defence get straight to someone if they make a silly mistake. Just the little things for me.
im struggling with Andy.
As a shorter option he was always gonna be up against it breaking into a midfield with Shiel, Parish and Merrett...and now Hobbs.
As an athlete he looked amazing year one, but has since lost pace. Injury or his overall development, i can't tell which but he rarely runs oppo players down
Disposal wise, he's probably the last guy in our side i want kicking the ball.
Decision making just isn't there either. He telegraphs what he's gonna do for 3-4 seconds most of the time. That, or rushes the dump kick.

The last thread has always been he's a leader. I saw this too and it happens a lot. I don't see onfield leader. maybe off-field. It's not just him, the whole team does it and it's something for Zach and Brad to build within the squad. We have a lot of individuals out there.

It’s a shame because he used to get around his teammates a lot

Tryer but doesn't give us any real zip or break lines and doesn't use the ball very well. In hindsight we got a less versatile blue chip Mark Baguley.

He did get around Nik Cox when Cox failed to spoil Jamarra.
i think he is a b grade player who is best 22 but in a good side he is ranked 14- 22 like John noble.
one of Adrian’s biggest flaws is his inability to draft Aplus grade talent.
Some of this is quite simply having strong hands in weak drafts but furthermore he has made some poor choices.
he had two chances to draft Charlie curnow for example.
how handy would he be right now?
Anyway getting back on track Andy has lost the run and dare he showed in his first two seasons and always looks panicked on the field. No big free agency cheques will come his way.

This is not on topic and may not mean anything to you but I’m watching Andor at the moment and read your post in the voice of Major Partagaz (Anton Lesser).

In career worst form. Absolute liability on field. Chooses the wrong option nearly every time he gets the ball. No creativity and his disposal is putrid.
Isn't fond of physical contact either. Not VC material. As others have mentioned needs to go back to the role that suits him.

if we're serious about chasing and 2 way running being a non-negotiable, he should be dropped. Some of those efforts on Weightman were horrendous.

A couple of them were, sure. But then you're dropping more than half the side based on the last 2 weeks if that's the case. And McGrath to his credit is one of the few guys that can consistently hold his head up high in this department, most of the time.
