I've seen a lot of Daniel Currie in the SANFL this year and he was genuinely impressive. Throw in he's supported the Roos as a kid, and I'm delighted with this pick.

Nah, he could ruck. Not too much to hang your hat on, but he crushed the ACTAFL comp regularly. Durability was his issue. IIRC he got the call a few times before injuring himself or having something flare up, so if he's past his foot and back issues, he'll be gravy for youse, I reckon.

Might have been a polyteam. Heard him say North at a Swans jnr clinic (was there to brush up on my opposite foot kicking).

Edit: he had a relative who posted on the Sydney board frequently enough when he was there. I imagine he'll be along here shortly and would be able to confirm / deny.

Awesome. Very happy with this. I for one thought it would have been stupid to use a top 15 pick on Grundy when we already have Goldy and Daw. Currie is the backup we needed to replace H and much cheaper too!

I had heard the Pies had some interest in Currie at #39.

This may have been a possible factor in letting Grundy slide to them at #18.

Happy with Currie, had his injury concerns but he will flourish being back in an AFL environment.

You'll be surprised how big he is...very solid specimen.
