Croad, Gilham, Franklin, Roughead, Campbell, Renouf, Birchall.

Nah, too many talls. They should trade Franklin.

Petrie is not a ruckman. Now Thommo is gone, you'd think Hale is now the key forward. I'm hoping they stick to one position instead of being played all over the ground and ****ing up the structure.

Goldstein has not proven anything at AFL level yet anyway. How has he all of a sudden become our number one ruckman? Even if he makes it, it'll take him 5-6 more years to hit his prime.
Birchall isnt a tall.

Petrie would be the perfect 2nd ruckman, many people had him as AA due to this. He'd only need to play 20-30% in the ruck and the rest in defence or up forward. These days rotation is very important. If you have 2 ruckman who can't play anywhere else but the ruck, you're gonna struggle. Yes Goldstein still has a long way to go, but so does McIntosh.

But you just said that the hitouts is the big issue here.

Ottens, Lade and Jolly absolutely smashed Petrie in tapwork in the last 3 games. He is not a tap ruckman, his best work is as a defender IMO.

Birchall isnt a tall.

He regularly plays on the third tall forward, he is 192 cm. He has played on Hale before.

Nah, it's Gilham Croad and Brown who get the talls usually. Birchall is there for his run, cant really cant him as he is 100 times more mobile than any bloke 193cm+ on our list.

That is why Hawks have been trying to poach key defenders for years. They got none of note. They got a whole bunch of undersized hard workers, like us, but they flood the shit out of their defensive 50 so there they get 3 to every contest.

They are still looking to poach a key defender this year. In saying that, they still have 3 guys 192cm+

Gilham is not up to it IMO, they are looking for a replacement.

I want drew to stop taking centre bounces, just the thought of him getting a injury from bashing into other abominations or landing horrifically(he has a massive vertical leap and tends to overstretch a lot anyone notice) terrifies me.

He obviously doesn't mind getting hurt and its in his nature but north coaching staff if your reading this:

DONNTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!

Onto Hamish, ruck depth is the most important in the modern game. Having 2 great PERFORMING ruckmen wins you finals, and having a decent 3rd one as backup is absolutely necessary.

Every other club in the land beside perhaps Hawthorn or Brisbane are missing a dominant, skilled ruckman either @ #1 or #2 and need their stocks filled!

Unless some ridiculous advantageous offer was made to NMFC, Hamish should stay :).

IIRC he destroyed Jeff White in that game and got BOG.

Edit: Yep.

Werribee Tigers 5.4 7.7 9.13 13.15 (93)
Sandringham 0.2 6.3 9.5 13.9 (87)

BEST:
Werribee Tigers: Goldstein Thompson Davies Greenwood Howard Ross
Sandringham: Yze Newton Liddell Crowe Frawley White

Don't always believe what you read in the papers

Hmm everybodys player reports in that thread are saying the same thing though.

Must be true then.

I guess when I watch a game of footy from now on I''l have to get myself a pair of those rose coloured glasses

Look don't get me wrong i think Goldy could become a good player but he has a long way to go before you consider shipping off Hamish.

Yep, I agree shipping off Hamish would be the dumbest thing to do. I never commented on that.

Just saw your post and distinctly remembered Goldy being named BOG and everyone on Bigfooty raving about his performance against Jeff White. Didn't see the game myself maybe White did smash him but sounds like that would be a very bad case of rose coloured glasses by a lot of people. (Including a Melbourne supporter who saw the game and said Goldy dominated White).

It is, that's what I'm saying. I'm saying only one ruckman out of McIntosh and Goldstein can play because both cannot play in other positions effective enough. Petrie can do this and Petrie wouldn't be rucking against Ottens, Lade and Jolly, he'd be rucking against lower ruckman (not the oppositions first ruck, that's what the first ruckman rucks against). Hitouts are very important, but when a 2nd ruckman is rucking for only 30% of the game, that's a waste of a pure ruckman. Better to have a Petrie type of player. Petrie's best work can be anywhere that's what makes him so effective. Once kicked 7 goals in one quarter up forward, BOG against Collingwood receiving 20+ possessions and hitouts and of course we know what he can do in the backline.

Alistair Clarkson must have logged on as a North supporter, he thinks we'll do something stupid to get Boyle on our list if he can talk him up enough. Stiring up enough rumours to get Harris on theirs. Harris is the one player who can consistently smash Sam Mitchell and while Hawthorne have a decent ruck combo I'm sure they'd love to have Hamish in there. Course could be Eade logged on as well.

I'd rather have Mitchell than Harris.

Mc Intosh Up for Trade

Laidley - Confirms alot of interest in Hamish Mc Intosh. Laidley confirms he could be traded if the right offer is made.

Would want to be an insane offer IMO

Go Roos:D

Don't believe any of this rubbish unless you hear the person who is quoted as saying it actually say it.

I hear what your saying mate, but with Deano's recent record at trading I feel sick hust hearing that sort of talk.

Honestly why would we trade away one of our Strengths?

just heard on SEN that laidley will consider a trade for mcintosh?!

this is getting out of hand....!

Does Hamish and his fitness levels worry you??? it worries me prior to him getting injuried he was huffing and puffing running off the bench... maybe this is a calculated move as his value would be extremely high... maybe pick 4 and 22 and Adam Thompson(sp)??? :D:D:D
