Does Hamish and his fitness levels worry you??? it worries me prior to him getting injuried he was huffing and puffing running off the bench... maybe this is a calculated move as his value would be extremely high... maybe pick 4 and 22 and Adam Thompson(sp)??? :D:D:D

SPOT ON RB_96....NOW TRADE WEEK IS OFFICIAL EXCITING ME AND THE PROSPECT OF MARC MURPHY IS ALL SO CLOSER.....DO IT LAIDS.....I AM EXCITED!!!!:thumbsu:

Hope this is not true he should have been AA in 07. His form wasn't up to scratch early in 08 but does that mean you trade him off? Really hope this doesn't happen.

So someone asks Dean who North have been asked about, he says Hamish and then makes the comment that it would take a shitload, and all of the sudden Hamish is on the table?

As I said. Nah.

Did they quote Laidely or is this an SEN caller?

Bad move man.

Trade wrap - McIntosh on the table

Email article Share Add to Digg Add to del.icio.us Post to NewsVine Post to Facebook What are these? Printer friendly Text size+- THE Kangaroos have dropped the first bombshell of trade week, announcing that ruckman Hamish McIntosh is available for the right price. North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley said the club would look at any offers for the 203cm ruckman. He is expected to be worth a first-round pick.

In other news from the first day of the AFL's trading period, Port Adelaide said it would not offer Fremantle anything for onballer Josh Carr, Hawthorn is set to meet homesick Swans forward Ryan O'Keefe and Melbourne's Brad Green has attracted interest.

The Power are confident it can get Carr in the pre-season draft.

But the Roos' decision to shop McIntosh will create the biggest waves, with several clubs in the market for an experienced ruckman, including Melbourne, Carlton and St Kilda.

North Melbourne ma y have put the big man on the table in order to spark talks, as Laidley said other clubs had shown little interest in the other Roos on offer - Daniel Harris and Corey Jones.

McIntosh had his best season last year, being in contention for All-Australian selection and coming fourth in the club's best and fairest. The Roos took him with pick No.9 in the 2002 draft.

I don't know what your game is here Laids, but stop it.

As you can see by my last post, I am very excited by the news to trade McIntosh. To make my point look at were Hawthorn are now and from where they came from! They traded away 'so-called' stars away for picks and basically traded to a premiership. And not only that they won a flag this year with no outstanding ruckman. So my points:
1) Trade 'non-game-breaking' players, especially ruckman, when their value is high and return will be good. Only ruckman in the comp I would not trade if he was on my team is Cox....absolute game winner;
2) No need for a 'should have been, could have been' All Australian Ruckman, especially in our team will sub-standard on ball division. The guy was running around late last year like he has some sort of debilitating virus or something....was shocking in our finals last year! Get a low draft pick and land a sidebottom or get a proven gun like Murphy....!

If we could land a pick lower then our current one....I WOULD BE ONE HAPPY KANGA FAN!

WE NEED TO MAKE TOUGH DECISIONS OR WE CANT GO FORWARD......

I am against trading Hamish but thats just me. If he were to go though the club better get a flipping awesome deal.

Hamish is a quality player, but he's not a pure tap ruckman, he doesn't get the hitouts and that's what we need. My other query is he can't play in any other position. That's the kind of ruckman we need.
If there's any time you would trade him, it'd be now when his trade value is high. It be sad to see him go, but we need to make changes. Still if we keep him, then our ruck stocks are looking very good.

He averaged 18 hit outs last year in his first dominant season, he will improve on and that easy. He also averaged 16 possies for a ruckman.

We trade him, we have to take Hale out of the goal square and playing as second ruck or Petrie doing the same thing. **** that, keep one of our best youngsters and players and build for **** sake.
