Pity he's not 6ft tall, he'd be the greatrest midfielder the game has ever seen, if Maj has a reasonable year and plays say 10-15 senior games, and Lachie and Taz keep improving, dare I say Drew Petrie trade bait.

You're ridiculous.

Their first choice no doubt, but they are absolute inanimate carbon rods in regards to forward pressure, and they don't have the ability to give Goldy a chop out, and let Drew remain at FF.

Majak makes perfect structual sense.

In time, I think it might be Lachie vs Robbie, not Majak vs Lachie & Robbie.

I agree with this, and to be honest am pretty surprised we are only hearing all of them are down forward, plus curran and black.
What are your thoughts? Apart from the delaneys who else is our KPD? If narni or thommo are injured who are our ready big bodied defenders? I just see a log jam of big bodies up forward and a scarcity down back. Sure we have second and third talls, but can they adequatley cover?

Dont get me wrong, I completely agree with that. But you constantly hear on here (and Scott gives that impression) that Lachie and Taz are absolute locks.

NAB cup is going to sort out quite a few I suspect in various positions for pecking order.

I reckon Lachie is a lock :))), he proved himself last year, finishing in the final. Taz is the question mark & the position up for grabs. I'd be happy with either Taz or Majak in that forward position

I see no reason why Maj couldn't play forward with Drew, Tarrant and Lachie. He's quicker than most players, adds defensive pressure, can take a grab and would make a fantastic "get out" option up around the wings.

Throw in LT and Boomer buzzing around their feet with Adams and Harps playing up high in the forward line, would make for some interesting match ups. When he goes in the ruck, you rest Goldy and give Taz or Lachie a break and then go smaller with a forward line of LT, Harps, JZ, Drew, Taz/Lachie and Adams.

This trick is to get him isolated one out and in to space.

I expect he will play a second CHF type role. I have no problems with a Drew/Lachie/Tazza/Majak combination once we are dominating the midfield.

They would be a nightmare match up.

Things I noticed from video,

We all no his size speed and all that but he turns on a 5c peace, when he got what look like a good strong tackle he broke free very impressively. On the flip side every tackle he laid stuck or ball got knocked free, he goes for zero to full pace in 2 steps. Looks very sharp with his ball handling also.

Impressive, bring on nab cup!

The physical and mental maturity as well as the increased confidence and footy knowledge were obvious in this vid.

And for anyone claiming he doesn't bring it into games, his VFL games in 2012 were more than his earlier years of cameos. He did genuine matchwinning things.

The idea of Majak going from highly speculative development player to outright AFL x-factor is pretty damn nice.

Do you you think he was ready teff?

Would he have played there ahead of Pedo, McKinley, Hansen and Tarrant when they were at Werribee in the VFL?

I don't think so.

Despite allllllllllllll the temptation, the pressure from the fanboi's, media etc I think Majak could honestly be Bon's greatest triumph, I think he's handled his development absolutely perfect.

Ontop of that, from our perspective, we aren't chucking a skinny kid into the side and developing him in the seniors, to the detriment of our playing level. Majak's strong, fit, and ready to contribute, he's served his apprenticeship, and he looks hungry.............

I think he's taken the same approach to Ayden Kennedy, and I think you will find Brad McKenzie, Taylor Garner and Luke McDonald will have to endure a similar amount of development before they are considered best 22 players.

We aren't Collingwood, we can't rely on a smattering of A graders and just run some raw kids under their feet, Ziebell and co havn't taken that step up etc, so we need our kids to be of a pretty developed level, or we will see a reduction in output....

Certainly on the back of last year I agree Sammie. Lachie'best is certainly good enough, problem is it has gone missing in the past - as you say, hopefully last year gets him on the right track.

Yep, Daw/Taz/Black and even Curran if he is fit will be interesting.

Ready? He wasn't ready in any sense a couple of years ago. He should have been spending more time forward last year. It's not as if the Lachie/Robbie combo were a regular fixture in the VFL over the past two years.

He also adds something completely different to the two Bens who are effectively hit up/chest mark forwards.

You seem to be stating that he can be a consistent AFL match winner. I am not that optimistic, but he will hurt sides if they don't respect him.

I don't put him ahead of Lachie and Robbie at present.

Majak has some elite traits, but he still has a couple of noticeable flaws as well.

Absolutely not.

As I said in the past, I see him playing a similar role/style to Quintyn Lynch, but a bit more athletic.

My reference was developing a skinny sudanese kid, who most thought was a marketing ploy, who most thought would never amount to it, who people wanted played to early etc etc. I think he's handled it exceptionally well.

Fair enough. I agree.

He has gone from a kid who I doubted could overcome his weaknesses, to a man that looks as though he has a future on our list.

We still have to manage him in that fashion, but the payoff, if we can isolate his strengths, could be very rewarding.

I'm a bit like Big Kev, ****en excited!

Reckon Maj will have a major impact and cause a real headache for those rucks in the comp that are athletically challenged. The perfect 2nd ruck/ fwd.

I remember a thread similar to this last year. Is he going to play this year though?
We think so because he isn't the same player to last year. Last year was more about hope, this year it isn't, its about best 22.
