You mean during the period in which he could hardly walk during the week due to chronic OP?

It was a combination of the two. Bon has mentioned countless times how much the move inside helped Wells. OP or not, Wellsy would be a sitting duck for taggers in an outside role.

I did say more outside, not fully outside.

Good to hear Maj has been working hard at the club before the official pre-season training has started.

Does anyone know if Maj played down back at all in the VFL this year? Tall enough and agilge enough to become a key position rebounding defender perhaps?

Majak Daw
Height: 194cm
Weight: 89kg
DOB: 11/03/91
Recruited from: Western Jets
Bio: Athletic and versatile tall who can play at either end and in the ruck. Exceptionally quick for his size and strong in the air. Amazing natural leap. Learning the game and improving rapidly, booting 8 goals in the final three rounds of the TAC Cup in 2009. His 3.03sec 20m and level 13.6 beep test were impressive for a tall forward at the Victorian screening along with his standing jump of 70cm (top 14 per cent).

In his own words

What type of player are you?
Tall, athletic, mobile link man who can play in many positions. Good overhead mark who uses my leap well.

Which AFL player do you most resemble and why?
Paddy Ryder because he uses his leap and jumps into opponents well. He's also very mobile and athletic. I believe I show similar attributes and skills as him.

What are your strengths as a footballer?
Strong hands and great use of my jumping ability.

What parts of your game would you like to improve?
I am very limited in my football because I have only been playing for four years. Reading the game and the way the play unfolds.

Which AFL team do you support and how did you come to barrack for them?
Essendon. My friends from school and my football club were all Essendon supporters.

Who has been the biggest influence on your career so far and why?
Joey Halloren. He is a friend who I have played football with in junior level at Wyndhamvale and Western Jets. He helps me understand how to play football and also gives me support but has also been my taxi driver to training sessions and games.

A Friend of mine saw Majak play all the time, as he took Pics for Ballarat, & he said he's Freakish in some of the things he can do etc. Am truly excited to see him get a go, with "The Big Boys" this year! Think he could really generate a lot of excitement, & also, really good Publicity, for us! Bring on the 2013 Season!

Thinking they are ready to unleashed majak- hence why we didn't hold a harder line with trading Mcintosh. Needs a preseason focused on endurance work to not struggle at senior level
