We were all expecting it, but here it is!

In: Hasleby, Pavlich, McPhee, Hayden, Sandilands, Mundy, Hill, Mayne, Morabito, Fyfe
Out: Kepler Bradley, Byron Schammer, Steven Dodd, Ryan Murphy, Rhys Palmer, Clayton Hinkley, Tim Ruffles (knee), Clancee Pearce, Justin Bollenhagen, Zac Clarke

Has such a large amount of changes actually happened before?

Probably not.

Saints dropped 9 last year against Hawks but they did not bring the whole lot back the following game.

Likely this is a record.

Could actually be 11. Ballantyne is an emergency but it wouldn't be surprising if he was a last minute inclusion for someone like Michael Walters, Jesse Crichton or Jay Van Berlo.

Yeah absoutely packing ..those purple haze monsters are scary...getting beaten by 20 goals must be a tad demoralising for any team .
Counteracted nicely by the quality coming back in.

Last weekend is a distant memory, which I hope won't effect the performance of nearly half the team dropped back to the WAFL this weekend.

Tarrant will be back week 1 finals I think?

And if this isn't the biggest group of ins ever, it has to be one of the most impressive. Half of Freo's best 22 haha.

If it works everyone will be doing it next year, if it fails watch for the countless articles on why it was such a stupid idea.

That depends on your definition of 'works'. Fremantle's definition of 'works' is going to be a whole lot different than anyone else's. If Fremantle play at their best and lose on Friday night, then play at their best and lose in week 1 of the finals, does that mean it didn't work? Do they have to make week 2 of the finals for it to have 'worked'? They could lose on Friday night but then win their first final, does that mean it didn't work (losing Friday night) but then did work (winning a final)?

The resting of players to have them fresh for r22/finals worked regardless of friday nights result. Does having a fresh squad automatically mean we will win the match? Of course not.

Wrong freo must win this week for it to have worked and here is why.

They made the decision after round 20 they only needed 1 more win for a home final so they rested their stars last week because they believed giving them a week off would secure a win this week and a home final.

If they lose they were wrong, next week does not matter because they made the decision they would have a home final this way not win more finals.

That's your definition. I doubt it's Mark Harvey's.

You got me there well done.

Maybe you might care to share with the rest of us what Mark Harvey intended by resting half his side last week or do you only know what he didn't intend to do?

Mark Harvey has only stated that he intended to give his team the best opportunity possible in the weeks ahead. I don't believe he has publicly stated what the club will determine a success over the coming weeks.

Given where Fremantle have come from, my opinion is that they will be satisfied with playing their best football. If that takes them beyond next week they will be very pleased.
