Bullshit, the bump itself was pretty innocuous, not the sort of bump designed to hurt someone.Perhaps so, but did he intend to hurt him? Of course he did. It was a great shirtfront and even 5-10 years ago it would've been fine. But with what we have learned from the risk of concussions, I think its the sensible thing to do, putting the onus on the guy who shirtfronts...you must not cause head damage to the player you shirtfront. Legally, socially for the good of the game it's the right thing to do.
I see it as unlucky. If there was no head clash then it would've been fine (but in my view completely uneccesary). But there was so Thomas will be on trouble.

Interesting one, divisive at the moment to the Collingwood vs rest of the competition.... don't know how many carry over points he has...but I feel he will go (unjustly) for 2 weeks.
I was unaware there were laws against accidents.
It is fallacy of the MRP, it is a shield to hide behind while the AFL will happily endorse the use of pokies to bankroll clubs.
It is just another instance of the hypocrisy of the AFL.
Won't someone think of the children.

Now f*** off back to bignetball.com.
REECE Conca is available to play Round 1 against Carlton after the AFL Match Review Panel yesterday deemed his hit on Kangaroo Leigh Adams was not intentional - despite it happening 40m behind play.
The AFL yesterday clarified its "behind the play" rules announced in December. The panel said Conca tried to "bump or block" Adams and not make high contact, so the incident was judged only as reckless.

When do the rules not apply to us? We are the only team in the last decade to get players rubbed out for the GF.
The difference being if concussion is found to have effects on AFL players, and they sue, then how will the game survive?? The AFL are doing the smart thing by trying to take head contact out of it. As much as we'd love to go back to the days when being knocked out was part of the game, we can't. We can't be ignorant toward the issue anymore.
This sport seems to be surviving

Surely there has to be some ownership of the risk that a player takes by stepping out on the field by that player.
Have the rules changed in the last 12 months?
3 weeks.
We need to find the same biomechanist that got Quinten Lynch off after kneeing Scott Mcmahon in the final last year. That one still baffles me.
