Traded #12: Stewart Crameri - Traded to Footscray for pick 26

There does not appear to be a player in the AFL that needs the bye more than Crameri does.

Hopefully it is enough for him to get back to something close to 100% (in season) fitness. A large part of the forward problems of the last few weeks are probably the result of Stu not being able to lead hard up to the wing.

How good was that 100m sprint to goal. Just had that Lovett or Lewis Jetta type look behind and think "haha you're not going to catch me" at Macpharlin. Probably the highlight of the game for me.

The magic of the bye.

The way he just powered on and on was amazing. Bounces the footy with left and right hands. Macpharlin just gave up in the end because he was spent as opposed to Crameri who could've done that run again.

Awesome stuff.

if that run had happened during a Pies/Blues/Tigers game at the 'G it would be goal of the year. sadly the atmosphere wasn't the same so it won't get the plaudits it deserves

What Stewie needs is a silly haircut or other standout physical feature. Pasty & #2 mousy brown hair ain't doing it for him.
People need to KNOW when a footballer's exciting without having to go through the laborious process of watching them play.

Should've been born in Kojonup and gone to the Calder Cannons Footy Factory (or the Geelong Falcons)

Actually if he gets his name tattooed on his neck, then the commentators will remember who he is

Dermie on SEN last night was saying it was a fluke that McPharlin couldn't catch him and he'd be spewing that someone half as talented as him did that.

I can't wait until Stewie comes up against the spud brigade Hawthorn call their tall backline.

How on earth can something like that be "fluked"?!

Weird - Dermie normally actually goes OK.

Crameri can ****ing flat-out move, there's no doubt about that, he is right up there with the best athletes in the game. Bloke can ****ing dunk @ 6'3", was benching 140kg as a 17yo, and competed at state level as a runner!!! UNIT!

He's strong, he's fast, he's smart, he's a lovely kick (until he gets in front of goals) he marks it well, he can play virtually any forward line spot, as well as pinch-hit midfield & back. What's not to like?

Really points out just how much validation some people need - whether that be by being acclaimed as "elite" by commentator, some sort of plaudit, reckoned an early prospect by a recruiter, or what have you. People need to be told!

Love that Crameri gets no recognition. He has no gimmick. His celebrations are always low-key. Just let him get pooh-poohed and then tear them a new one. Although Hurley was out and that obviously changed the situation, it's telling that Buckley (y'know, from a serious club) and friends put work into him. Mind you, that's after he had done a demolition job on O'Brien... twice.
