Would be a top 10 pick if he knew how to kick.
Hopefully the club can fix that.
If Grandma had balls, etc. etc. Kicking is one of, if not the most non-negotiable skill in footy. Lucky we spent **** all for him but asking someone to fix their kicking is almost leopards and spots territory

Is there any evidence that the fines are massive or people are forced?
Yeh if you research segregation in sporting organisations, you’d probably find a whole heap of relative peer reviewed articles that correlate to that shit take of a culture.

If you wanna do KangaLotto you dont do it to change a persons appearance as a punitive punishment.

Imagine the AFLW team doing Kangalotto to reluctant teenage girls! That's right, they wouldn't.
I really dislike derailing threads.. but it is THIS! Thats the response.

Blown Away Wow GIF by Aminé

Forgive my ignorance, but I’ve not read every page of this thread. Is there actually any relation?
No idea and considering they're from opposite sides of the country, probably not? It's just funny + probably intentional that he's wearing Gav's number

You could have just said no there isn't any evidence.

weaponising hair, shaving heads, changing identities is not a new phenomenon buddy, its well researched. You are nuts if you think it has no impact. Should have no place at our footy club.

You wouldn’t think Gav’s name would be on the locker. Can’t remember how many games he played, but it’d be nowhere near a locker naming.
If I got handed a jumper number for an AFL team I just joined, I would be looking up the full history of it.

Not many 18yos are going to speak up about some daft initiation a bunch of giggly entrenched senior players have come up with.

We're not trying to break their sense of individuality navy seal style. Most of these lads are inexperienced and insecure and if having a bit of vanity helps them, leave them alone.

Have chatted about this little custom to non footy friends who were shocked we did it and saw it as macho bullshit from another era.

Imagine the AFLW team doing Kangalotto to reluctant teenage girls! That's right, they wouldn't.

It's archaic and had it's day 25 years ago. **** it off.
I don't know what the issue is, intimidation factor off the charts.

Here we go again. Is there any evidence that any player has been upset by this tradition? Is there any evidence that players don't enjoy the bonding and comradery involved in the process?

Is there any evidence that the fines are massive or people are forced?
Is there any evidence that players have felt unable to speak up about it, or wanted to or that it's driven by giggly senior players?

Why does it have to be a labelled "macho" thing? Is there any evidence this is driven by testosterone or "toxic masculinity"

It really bothers me that people sitting at home smashing away at their keyboards have decided they don't like this and invented a plethora of imaginary scenarios where players have been or potentially could be coerced, forced, intimidated, felt peer group pressure in support of their own wish to end it.

You seem like a level headed bloke but that is absolute garbage, not to mention completely irrelevant.

It's ok to say you don't like it and everybody is entitled to their opinion, but lets not insert our own narrative or make shit up.

The day someone comes out and says they have been traumatised by the experience I will be the first to say it needs to stop.
I don't know man, you sound a bit like a conformist to me. I bet you'd even have them dress the same on match day if you had your way.

Benny Jacobs wasn't a great kick of the footy. I'm not big on tagging but if we're thinking of going that way the young fella has all the attributes.
Yep jack Crisp type that can run both ways - negate and attack
