How about some sympathy for Kelvin Benjamin.
Would've had a massive year, but the other guys all stepped up without him, like he wasn't even needed, but he wouldve probably got a majority of the shared stats the other Wideouts got....and misses the Super Bowl too. No knowing when the Panthers might get another shot.

Panthers will be back. They feel like the Seahawks in 2012 (just a bit better obviously)

Carolina fans here might find this hard to believe but I actually like watching the Panthers (until they score).

As I have been saying most of the season, they are the best 'team' in football. Strong in all facets. Their strength though being their D.

But I'm still on the Manning bandwagon. He's finally getting some luck in playoffs and getting carried for a change but if he's to win a second ring he's going to have to earn it against this Panthers team.

Most of season you were saying we were a product of a weak schedule actually. :$

Following the draft, the odds for this Super Bowl matchup were 80/1

Panthers were 60-1 in Vegas at the start of the season to win it all. Has there been a bigger 'roughie' win the superbowl before the season kicked off?

(no we havent won shit yet, yes im aware!!! just wanting to know from a historical standpoint whats biggest outsider to win the SB before a season started?)

(best i saw was 50-1 with our bookies)

You've been favorites to win the division all year.

60-1?

Get off the cool-aid.

It really shouldnt be this easy, Jerf.... :$

Newton and the Panthers were impressive in a 49-15 rout of the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship Game. Art Manteris, vice president of Station Casinos' sports book, said he took action on Carolina every time the Panthers scored in the fourth quarter against Arizona.

Carolina began the year as high as 60-1 to win the Super Bowl.

I'll trust the betting databases I have access to rather than something you read & repeated from ESPN.

We were 50-1 on aus books, this i can guarantee. I saw it with my own eyes.

Your betting data bases need more data, or perhaps your traders are just super smart and knew Carolina werent a 50-1 chance?

You dont have to agree with the odds Jerf, i was merely saying what we were, you get so upset about nothing, im just the messenger, i dont frame the markets. :drunk:

(oh and Atlanta were favs to win the division at the start of the year as well, i think your joke of team was actually second fav IIRC).... My memory>Your databases.

If there's anything AFL has taught me, blowout wins in the penultimate game of the season lead to losses more often than not.

That's my only thought right now, got two weeks left.

Yeah a team hasnt dominated the conf game and gone on to win the superbowl since.....last season

SB50 could be an epic Field Goal-a-thon. Two best defenses.
However, you can see the Panthers have so much variety and wrinkles on offense. They're literally an offensive juggernaut with bit-part receivers.
All credit to Mr.Shula for such a fine fine performance as OC.

1999 Rams

They went 4-12 in 1998.
Their starting QB got injured in the preseason and they won the Superbowl.

It's like so much violence on TV/movies/video games that people become desensitized to it. But the NFL has changed so much. I can barely count the amount of under center plays that the playoff teams run during the course of a game. So many college concepts crept into the NFL now. Almost everything shotgun/pistol based. There's still running of the football. Just it's evolved to read option and quick tosses and gadget plays like jet sweeps etc.
