Lav is my favourite Essendon story of the year. I watched him in the VFL quite a bit during his career and always knew there was a great AFL player that would emerge if he had the opportunity. Just needed some injury luck and a bit of confidence.

I liked the signs from him forward last year. But I think he could make an outstanding HBF. Keen to see what happens.

Watching him this year I have to say I have never been so pleased to be wrong. I knew he could play. I just could not see him getting past the injuries.

Definitely not Robinson Crusoe there.

He'd be quite low in the pecking order of Forwards that are currently on our list.

Feel like it's been murphys law with this kid - the club has played him out of position and he hasn't been able to get his body right.

Would have been interesting to see him get a crack as a HFF, Wing or even off HB, but doubt he'll get the opportunity.
