As much as I hate the harsh marking I agree with Tulip his kicking was nothing special, but his one touch with the footy and his poise in traffic were incredible
he has a bit of pace too

Off the mark he has a good fast cpl steps
Yep, his first couple of the games at the level he has looked more than capable.

I can't see Hibberd getting back into the side with his form

I simply learned from your reading of JJ ;)

His kicking looked pretty good to be fair, just not amazing, interested to see it in a few years when he acclimatises.

My read of him, his decision making by foot is great, not sure if he can execute it yet. But for a second gamer apart from his holding the ball I reckon he picked everything correctly from instinct

Was great to see all the guys get to him straight after Kelly kicked the goal, lead by May and Lever.

He’ll keep getting likened to Daniel and it looks pretty spot on early. Very tidy kick. Has a bit of zip and darts around, picks good options. Going to battle in one on one marking contests and will get out bodied a bit, think it was on someone like Cripps he couldn’t get a spoil in.

I mean not every player can come in and be Campbell.

Reckon it’s tidy without being electric. He’s not making mistakes with it and they’re not coming off the side of the boot.

That HTB late is really the only significant error he has made in his first couple of games, he is very clean & composed for someone 2 games in. Have some fears about him being exposed defensively but hasn't really been tested in that regard yet.

Always going to happen with players in their first few games. Adjusting to the pace of the game takes a bit.

I remember Petracca got caught about 10 times in his debut.

I thought I was looking at Peter Walsh the way he moved a couple of times. I was also a fair way away and had a few beers so could be completely wrong

He's got some bounce though. Clearly needs to put on some size to compete but he's shown he can jump.

Looks a footballer. Smart user, good instinctive decision maker, solid skills. Liked his hands too. Definitely found one here. Still not convinced he's a defender. Would be more damaging on a forward flank..

does anyone know why Sam Blease failed as a footballer? *I know he had some injuries but I don't think it was just injuries.

Also, I'd love someone to tell meshy Luke Tapscott failed as a player and Matthew Bate. These are guys that I rated highly at some point for for whatever reason didn't make the grade.

Blease was shit, Tapscott's body failed him, and Bate was also shit and turned out to be a loon.
