& 14-0 in Australia dating back to that fluke win

Was hardly a fluke win - they should have won two more in the decade and a bit that followed if it wasn’t for the Langer-Gilchrist partnership at Hobart and the test that they probably threw at Sydney. Even on one of their most recent tours they nearly chased down 400 or so at Brisbane and somehow conspired to lose in Melbourne after Azhar Ali made a double century and declaring on 450.

But yes it’s a fair point given how insanely shit they’ve been in the time in terms of being more or less incapable of taking wickets at a rate of more than 2 a day

I wonder how the total numbers compare if you have 2-3 days of a contest between bat and ball instead of 4-5 days of endless batting

generally the best tests are the ones that are low scoring. If you need declarations to get a result the pitch has been too batter friendly.
