Think the case is we're just better off without ####en Langer (and were always going to be).
We beat a far better team in England with Langer than Sri Lanka without, who are a rabble. You just can’t draw a straight line between this win and the effectiveness of a coach. Unless, if we lose the T20 WC, you’ll change your mind and say we were better off with Langer.

I'd say England in Australia and that Sri Lankan effort are about the same levels of rabble. Fact is many were saying something like 'well Cummins had a sook and got rid of Langer so heats on and he'd better lead us to wins away'. He has.

And we had not been able to win in Asia against anyone - rabbles included. IDGAF about limited overs crap.

That could have been Maxi cleaning up the tail, well done Head and our team.Looks like Maxi test days might be over.
Bring in Maxwell for Starc. Cummins and Green to take the new ball. Bat deep with Maxi at 7, Carey at 8. If the pitch is like this one next Test, Maxwells batting and bowling could be more effective than Starcs.

A huge fan of Maxi as many BF people know, huge talent wasted in red ball cricket and sadly his red ball cricket days look doomed.

If only he didn't bowl darts he would have made something of himself.
Given the scarceness of Test cricket from most countries Lyon will probably remain in the top ten for a long time. Rabada and maybe Cummins are the only current players I could see getting to where Lyon's wicket count currently is, much less wherever he finishes up.

Love how nonchalant everyone is about the result.

First test victory in Sri Lanka in a decade and a 10 wicket victory to boot, coming after a test series win in Pakistan.

Unbeaten in 4 consecutive tests in the subcontinent is a huge turn around.

The first 2 Tests in Pakistan even Warne, Murali, McGrath, Hadlee, Ambrose in the same side wouldn't have been able to get 20 wickets and get a result in either of those 2 Tests so there nothing results and Sri Lanka have been playing pretty crap for a while now so again nothing big about this result, shows how bad our ODI side is atm though.

It's a good win but come on, that performance from Sri Lanka was wank

Take beating Bangladesh and Windies out of it you look at there past 3 series against decent opposition its bleak.

Sri Lanka in India - India 2-0 (2) - Scores of 109, 208, 174 and 178 - India by 238 runs and India by Innings and 222 runs

England in Sri Lanka - England 2-0 (2) - Scores of 381, 126, 135 and 359 - England by 7 wickets and England by 6 wickets

Sri Lanka in South Africa - South Africa 2-0 (2) - Scores of 157, 211, 396 and 180 - South Africa by 10 wickets and South Africa by innings and 45 runs

There getting spanked every Test against the better sides but consistently beating West Indies and Bangladesh so Windies and Bangladesh must be rank atm.

Dunno, England seem to play 450 Tests a year so maybe one of their bowlers will

The country is a mess and their cricket especially tests, has been ordinary to bad for years now.

Loved the positive intent Green batted with.

Usman is in such good touch also.

I wouldn't have picked Head in these conditions, horses for courses.

100 run lead minimum should be the difference in these conditions, bowl well enough and Sri Lanka shouldn't get more than 200-250 2nd dig, giving us a very gettable chase.

Never doubted his ability to take 4/10.
