I’m very optimistic about Taylor. Could be in our top 5 players in 2-3 years time. He just seems to have ‘it’.
I think your optimism is well placed, i remember watching his first game and almost writing him of after that but he turned his game literally on its head the following off season. If this blokes mojo continues to build on the same trajectory as his game has been tracking the sky could be the limit. He has shown glimpses of what the textbook modern hybrid fwd should look like. Then throw in a few party tricks like his aerial ability just for good measure.

The way he and Simpkin dragged us back into against the Saints was phenomenal.

There is also a general physiological limit to how quickly you can put weight on without any excess weight just being flab, too.

Plus 10kg of pure lean mass is A LOT.

10kg was just a throw away comment, I just meant he needs to put on some size.

If memory is correct, he lost a lot of muscle with glandular fever early this year. Which is pretty evident when you compare his physique to 2019

Man, Jy Simpkin in that game. *chef's kiss*

Some of you guys are so one eyed.

All I see is Joe the Goose who’s scared shitless of any contact.

He better grow some balls in the off season.

He does have a nice kick though.

Lol ok.

Have you not seen his 2 grandfinal goals?

His torp from the Center square?

The numerous marks on the lead out infront and subsequent goals?

The few contested marks and goals?

The many snaps from all angles?

Granted there were more than a few Joe’s but you are missing the majority of good things if that’s all you saw.

Did you see his half arse attempts and tackling? He is literally scared of being hurt.

He’s no Jed that’s for sure. But the clip above your post shows him tackling and goaling. Also the clip of his tackles against the dees near the boundary line was awesome.

Interestingly he avaeraged 2.1 tackles per game in 2019, vs 1.6 for Curtis Taylor in 2020. 2.4 for cam zurhaar in 2020.

You could post highlight of our delisted players as good as that. I’m looking at the complete picture.

If we’re not happy with Polecs defensive skills, Stevo is going to cause all sorts of frustration if he’s playing midfield.

He’s quick, and a good kick, which are 2 positives we need, but he had better toughen up.

So excited to have him on board! I went to the match where he kicked a barrel from about 55 metres out. He’s got some tricks to say the least.

I think that kick was to get his multi up that he subsequently got suspended for.

Im not as down as you, but this is still a pretty speculative deal. He's had a nice season and a half in a good team and got some over the backs.

There's a fair bit there, but he's definitely in the 'maybe' pile for me.

Lol there are different types of tackling, chase down etc the Zurhaar’s tackles are aggressive, made to feel like you have run into a bull

Fwd 50 pressure is different again. Stephenson and Turner will make a massive difference in FWD 50 pressure. And Polec pisses me off because he has no right foot.

I find it bizarre that this board has been united for years in that we need more X Factor and freak talent.

Then the club aquires arguably the 21 year old with the most proven AFL level X factor in the competition.

Then this board complains about defensive aspects of his game before he’s even played a game with us.

Not many players tackle like Jed Anderson and have the trick bag that Stephenson has. A team of Jed’s isn’t winning a flag. Stephenson along with TT provides us with star quality X factor in the forward half. The club will never expect his defensive game to be elite, but will look to add elite defensive players around him (which I can only assume Atu has been brought in to do).

Just reading the Stevo thread on the Pies board, looks like they're about a day or so from convincing themselves they won the trade even though a week ago some wouldn't even trade for pick 2.

Perhaps he'll change his name to Jaidyn Stegoey and take the rap for that indecent assault charge.
