I wouldn't confuse mav with "this board" tbh.

I find it bizarre that this board has been united for years in that we need more X Factor and freak talent.
Then the club aquires arguably the 21 year old with the most proven AFL level X factor in the competition.
Then this board complains about defensive aspects of his game before he’s even played a game with us.
Most of the board have no ****ing idea about footy. Like Tef says, supercoach minded people. Jaidyn fits in perfectly, a piece of a puzzle that fits for nothing at a ripe age. What others forget too, is we have massive holes in the TPP.. a tremendous move to grab this kid. Perfect age profile.. im more concerned about ensuring we have the right coach for a young group.I find it bizarre that this board has been united for years in that we need more X Factor and freak talent.

Not many players tackle like Jed Andersonand have the trick bag that Stephenson has. A team of Jed’s isn’t winning a flag. Stephenson along with TT provides us with star quality X factor in the forward half. The club will never expect his defensive game to be elite, but will look to add elite defensive players around him (which I can only assume Atu has been brought in to do).PLAYERCARDSTART17Jed Anderson

Its funny that they discuss “attitude” issues yet they keep a player with sexual assault charges plus various other charges he has copped over the years..Just reading the Stevo thread on the Pies board, looks like they're about a day or so from convincing themselves they won the trade even though a week ago some wouldn't even trade for pick 2.
Perhaps he'll change his name to Jaidyn Stegoey and take the rap for that indecent assault charge.

****in sheep dog mate! He could hit a target like phil taylor smaking triples on a dart board running round the back collecting cheap handballs across half back! The campaigner was a deadset sheep dog.. that was his job, he didnt need to win the hardball mate.. Buckley was a sheep dogRubbish. Buckley is a sh*t person but he was a fantastic player and far from a sheep dog.
Name someone u22 with more.
And I said proven at AFL level, before you mention Rankine who has only done it in 5-10 games thus far.

Ok story goes like this, strap in
After we bombed out to Geelong, Bucks, Guy, Anderson, McGuire, Walsh and Hine all sat in front of the playing group and said they had to make some list decisions that would be ruthless for the betterment of the football club. Some would like it, others not so much.
They did Treloar’s exit interview first. They told him they were going to trade him and he burst into tears and begged to stay.
There was literally no review of his season, just that the club were saying - we are taking the emotion out of this and being clear cut. We don’t think you’ve come on the way we hoped, and we are going to trade you while you still have currency.
Pies said to him that he hadn’t held up his end of the bargain for the coin he was on - and that they needed to make the call now to correct the TPP.
He said he wanted to remain, Pies said he’d need to take a hair cut, and he said no way.
But the issue with Treloar goes back to his GWS days
He was cheating on his then-finance. When he wanted to return to Victoria, he was locked and loaded to go to Richmond.
Eddie came in over the top and basically guilted Treloar into Collingwood by putting his then-finance into a very high-up, well-paying job knowing Adam was going to leave her, and essentially put it to him "at least look after her and her longevity".
So he took the deal at Collingwood.
He stayed with his fiance a little longer. About year 2 of his contract at Collingwood, the Pies wanted to extend him.
This however was at the time they were going through a messy split. She engaged a lawyer and was entitled to 'her half' given how long they had been together.
Treloar went to Collingwood and asked for them to put him on minimum chips ($200k) so he only had to give her $100, as opposed to $350+.
The Club agreed and obviously made it conditional that he'd need to be playing some good football because TPP is available for media to look at.
Essentially, it all winds back to now. When they said they were going to trade him, they said that the Club had actually assisted him in a messy situation, which was his own doing. He hadn't held up his end of the bargain. They even offered to keep him on if he agreed to take a pay cut, he declined that offer, and the club essentially said, well, we're trading you.
Regarding Stephenson - they told him straight up that they can’t cop him being a “petrified footballer”.
Apparently Stephenson is frightened, not a good trainer and has to be fully managed daily (micro managed) to ensure he does the work required to be a professional athlete. Not popular with the players apparently and has done some stuff in the last 2 seasons that have really upset players whether in the change room or on social media. The club feel like there is no guarantee that he’ll be a world beater and the club feel that they can get something while he still has currency.
North want him badly - and that’s because nobody wants to go there, but they’re offering Stephenson cash and longevity in a contract.
Allegedly pies are planning to package up X2 first round picks this year and a first round pick next year to catapult to pick 2 in order to take Logan McDonald - the key forward”
Tell em their fu**in dreamin! Not a chance in hell campaigners..
ahhh hahahahhahahaha ive been laughing for 2 days.. hahahahaha
Look, I kinda get why some people might be concerned over his appetite for the contest, but to be fair, that's not really why he's in the team. Also, he's 21 and from the same draft as LDU. We're all, myself included, really bullish about what LDU can do, but Stephenson's showed a lot more than him at AFL level so far. I don't think we've had a kid in, well, a really, really long time that has shown as much as Stephenson in his first 3 seasons. If he's considered a 'maybe' then every player under 23 other than Simpkin is a maybe because Stephenson's been better than all of them.Im not as down as you, but this is still a pretty speculative deal. He's had a nice season and a half in a good team and got some over the backs.
There's a fair bit there, but he's definitely in the 'maybe' pile for me.
Its a group chat, its straight off the facebook pies groupOh my god that's the stupidest text message I've ever seen.
In his first 3 fullish seasons Boomer Harvey averaged 1.03 tackles per game.I find it bizarre that this board has been united for years in that we need more X Factor and freak talent.
