Yes, but at least you have 15 other very happy grand final memories...You'll be waiting. We're still not over 1970, 1977, 1979, 2002, 2011 and 2018.
2 actually. Im not 135 years oldYes, but at least you have 15 other very happy grand final memories...
Yeah, sorry, I didn't think that through... but imagine if you were 135 years old, all those premiership memories...if dementia hasn't kicked in.2 actually. Im not 135 years old
F-F-F-F-FALCON!I've always hated Geelong and Essendon (I have started to feel a bit sorry for Essendon though), my hatred for Geelong has grown further because of their role in introducing nefarious characters into the AFL, and getting the AFL by Shocking to appease their special needs.
I'm over it.Still not over 2016 eh? It must be exhausting.
Meh things could be worse, at least both of those clubs you named don't have have 27 wooden spoons in the trophy cabinet!

Yeah I actually used to kind of respect them before this off-season but their fan base’s behaviour on here has catapulted them to #1. The fact that they are mentally broken gives me great joy - I often rewatch the first quarter of the 2021 prelim as it’s the most astounding display of softness and mental fragility I’ve ever witnessed in this sport. Despite all their minor league history and never tear us apart and prison bars blah blah blah that is who they truly are now. And they know it. And they hate it so much. And I love it.Koch and Hinkley just lol.Up until this year, i hadn't given Port Adelaide even a second of thought as a club, or as an overarching entity.
The carry on and smugness from a club that provide zero value to the AFL as a whole, is quite entertaining to see, as well as the inevitable fact that they are simply not any good, has catapulted them to the number one position in my mind.
Also, Essendon.
Fair enough. Sometimes it is hard to separate the actual team from all the external hype, even if it isn't the club's doing. I remember when the Swans won the 2005 premiership after so long, all the hype. I was so happy for the Swans, as my Mum and grandmother were devoted Swans supporters.I'm over it.
Not so much the Dogs fault.
More the commentary during a Dog's game.
Channel 7 Jesus Christ.
It's ridiculous.
Every single Dog is a "superstar".
The most eloquent tribute to the life of a fan since “Well you work to earn a living….”There is no reason to hate opposition teams. It's childish and unnecessary. I used to partake in this group hysteria, but I've let it all go and I feel better for it.
You can enjoy footy just as much without hating opposition teams. Some people convince themselves that it is a necessary part of being mad, passionate fan... But I think it just makes the game shitter to get caught up in petty jealousies and hatred of opponents.
There's opposition players I greatly admire. There's opposition champions I'm less enthused about (for various reasons). Hate is too strong a word.
There's the bitter club rivalries: e.g. Hawks vs Essendon & Hawks v Geelong... Also Hawks v Sydney (2010's), Carlton (80's) and North (70's)
But I enjoy these rivalries as a positive thing. I don't feel the need to lose my mind over it and demean the opposition.
There's always a degree of jealousy and tall poppy syndrome towards any club who enjoying a successful dynasty and playing with arrogance and self belief. But it's still no reason to hate. Just see it for what it is: they're too bloody good and their fans are enjoying themselves. I wish it was us...
There's always a degree of animosity towards big clubs with feral fans: Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon, Carlton... Some irritation at the media bias towards them. But that isn't their fault. That's just the media business... These "big 4" clubs have bigger fanbases, so of course they're going to have greater numbers of annoying loudmouth flogs who jump on the bandwagon. Every club has their fair share of toolbag fans.
Really, we're all the same. We might wear different colours, but we all share the same idiotic, irrational, unhealthy obsession.
I mainly like to follow my team: cheer them on through thick and thin, curse the umpires and grimace at my team's skill errors and sloppy defence.
But I also like to watch opposition teams play each other because I love the game.
