Sounds more like Scarlett and Enright wanting to initiate change and Scott sticking to his guns.

That seems to contradict other people around here often saying that Scarlett was the driving force behind the slow ball movement style

but you'll all have egg on your face if we win a premiership within the next 3 years.

Would happily have worse than that on my face, but am pretty much willing to bet house that we won't. I always say on here, happy to be proven wrong.

GF day I saw sides playing football miles ahead of anything we've managed to deliver for years. <- am referring to finals football here, the footy that is the business end of the season.

This was always going to happen. If you get rid of basically every assistant coach, you can’t sack the head coach too, Hocking said he would, yada yada yada.

I’m not unhappy about it personally. New CEO, new President, heaps of new assistants, probably a half dozen new faces, probably a new game plan…sometimes there is such a thing as too much change, so happy with this just for the sake of continuity.

All the signs are there that this year’s prelim was a big wake-up call for the club. Richmond did a big clean-out of assistants after 2016 too, while everyone was clamouring for Hardwicks’s head, and that worked out, to put it mildly. Hopefully we can replicate something like that next year.

Hey remember at one point when the Dogs, Port, Lions, GWS, Richmond, Eagles, Hawks, bla bla bla played worse footy than the premiers of that year?

Geelongs futures are not already written.

I tend to agree with what you're saying here. There is plenty of change happening!

I told the club 2 years ago I'm not renewing my membership until Scott Is gone and that was after 38 years of being a member.

Looks like I'll have to wait another 3 years.
Nothing against your opinion or actions, but membership has grown during that period. Even during Covid. So don't really know what to say, except that maybe you are one of the minority?

Trade Radio saying there was 'friction' between Scarlett & Enright vs Scott over the Cats 2021 game style. Think it was Rendell and Barrett.

yeah it must have been scarlett‘s fault 😂

It is sort of like Stanley really isn't.

It would be good to change then you look at the options.

Who'd be the last 10 or so appointments.

Voss, McRae, Mitchell, Ratten, Rutten, Nicks, Nobel, Teague, Shaw, Longmuir, Dew.

How many are you taking ahead of Scott? Mitchell wasn't available to the open market. Longmuir and Nobel look like they have their sh*t together but way too soon to know for sure, they can just set up their defensive structures at the moment and play the kids with no expectations.
Once again, what exactly has Mitchell done to be considered even if he was on the open market? Apart from that semantic point, I agree with your entire premise.

It doesn't worry me what membership numbers are. If people want to support that insipid, boring game plan that's up to them.

I've always said that Scott is a very good coach. But I've said in the same breath that I think of a lot of his attraction to the club is the way he presents commercially.

We need sponsors. We needed the stands built.
He definitely puts across an impression that we are strong, resilient, and player welfare minded.

So on the back of that, here's something for the people that want him out.
Do you know what relevance the end of this new contract brings?

Fords 99th year.
If he's going ok. Let's say top 5. Do you actually think they'll remove a coach of his standing and presence, and also the longest serving coach at the club before the 100th year?
