Amazing how much grappling and scragging was allowed after a mark back then too. If that happened today, there would be 6-8 50m penalties a game!

Putting aside Demetriou's scheduling conspiracy, the turning point in the '04 GF was without doubt Aker reversing the free kick before half time with his undisciplined hand in the face of his Power opponent. The facts are a little vague because I can't bring myself to watch the game again. In '02 he was the match winner, in '03 he was a front runner with 5 goals and in '04 he probably cost us the game with a 2 goal turnaround when we had the momentum. He gave me the sh... then and still does now. I am sick to death of the Woman's Day crap featuring Aker whenever he has a Mad Monday hangover or passes wind out of any oriface. Good riddance...

Aker was the one that got us back in the game when Port was killing us early

watching the 05 gf now, high quality game, very congested but great to watch. swans looked absolutely gone when ablett passed to cousins, how they turned it around is a credit to them.
