I know a new version of the grand final dvd has been re-released in the ThreePeat box set. But has it been released on its own.

I asked about it a few months ago at an AFL Shop. Chadstone I think. And they said as well as the box set a single dvd would be re released before xmas that would include the various commentary options like the previous ones. Ive yet to see it.

Does anyone else know if the single 2003 grand final has been re-released and if there is any extra footage?

The box set sounds great but a bit rough if you aleady have the other two grand finals. And wouldn't you. Screwed again?

Any info appreciated.

It's very unlikely. It'd mean that all existing stock would have to be recalled and destroyed - expensive! Two versions of the same production which differ only in the commentary is very unlikely to be considered worth the effort.

Unfortunately, I fear you are right, BoM - anyone want to buy 3 slightly used DVD's?????

The place to go is, Australian Football Video Showroom, at 362 Swan St, Richmond.

There is a possibility they MAY be able to provide an individual DVD, rather than a package. Sensitive negotiation is the key to this. You'll find them to be particularly friendly people.

I've tried to put their free-call phone number on this post, but it seems to make BF **** itself. If you were to punch in 'aflvideo' on Google you may achieve some element of connection.

If you visit their store, don't be argumentative about their marketing of the DVD of the GF. They brought it out six weeks earlier than the previous two years. This is a good thing, but it didn't allow them time to collate the other commentaries. They have received some flak about this, when they were just trying to do the right thing by us. Also, don't forget that for a company of their nature, in Victoria, the past three GFs haven't been a great financial success. This hasn't altered their long-term commitment to what they do. They are real people who are well-worth supporting.

It's worthwhile to visit the store anyway, but be warned, you'll probably end up spending more than you expected, because of the range they have available. They also have a great range of videos and DVDs of other sports.

Great post Skilts..i will make a point of visiting their showroom

but at the same time i dont think rushing a release is the way to do it...im sure most who bought the early version will feel short changed when they find out the multi audio version comes out..having taped it on video from match day i know ive waited because i wanted the full rage of commentaries...its a great feature and hopefully they learn from rushing next time..

looking forward to the full version ...releasing the multi track version part of a box set makes it feel even more of a sting to the die hard supporters who probably already had the single commentary and the other grand finals...but commercialism is commericalism..cest la vie

I contacted Australian Sports Video at the beginning of
December last year about whether there were any plans
to release the 2003 Grand Final DVD with extra commentaries
as an individual, and received the reply that there wern't any.
However, I was told to try again in a few weeks to see if there
was any change.

So I tried again at the beginning of January, and was informed
that it was now available as an individual stock. Went straight
on to their web site and ordered the DVD, along with the
season highlights from 2002 and 2003. They arrived in the
post yesterday, and the Grand Final DVD does indeed have
choice of commentaries - great addition to my DVDs of the
2001 and 2002 Grand Finals. :p :p :p

To answer your question, the 2003 DVD with extra commentaries
is now available as an individual stock. Though it is probably a
good idea to mention that this is what you are specifically after
- that's what I did when I ordered it.

Hope this helps...
