There is a god!

Although this may mean Walker could be dropped now.

Unlikely IMO. Walker was excellent last night. He struggled for game time early on but once Hentschel went down, he really stepped up.

What are your thoughts on Kosi and Blake as a replacement for Ottens?

The obvious choices are Kreuzer and HMac but thought I'd chuck in some less popular players.

Hentschel on the other hand ... 44, 27
very frustrating, I'll probably put him on the pine even if he plays and start Ziebell next week.

I wouldn't start Hentschel next week (or the first week he plays) but he's a better choice than at least Walker imo. Looked great in the first quarter last night.

I wouldn't say he was excellent. he was OK in the second half without being outstanding. Even in the 3rd quarter when he did play a little better he still only managed 1 goal 3.

I'm not sure what they'll do on the selection table, but my guess is Hentschel will probably be given a week or two rest. According to the Adelaide board if Stevens hadn't missed through injury then Walker would have been dropped.

Four weeks I'd normally hang on to the injured player. Like Hurley, Raines etc, but in the rucks the rookie rucks generally score woefully. Four weeks of 60's in the backs or mids is manageable, four weeks of 20-30 in the rucks is not.

I'm contemplating just riding out the injuries to ottens, raines and anthony...all could conceivably back in 4 weeks (of which only 2-3 will be competitive "league" weeks) which means I just need jacobs and suban/petrenko to keep playing.

Petrenko and suban are only scoring about 10 points less than I'd expect raines to, whereas jacobs in only scoring 20 less than i'd expect ottens to. Thats a 30 point per week (for only 2 real weeks) cost to save at least 2 trades that will be crucial later on.

It's a solid point Noodle. If Ottens was pulling 90s and your backups pulling 40s it's costing 50 ppg which over say 5-6 weeks stings a lot. Costs the team around 250-300 points. On top of that there's the risk of the rookie ruck being dropped or Ottens return being delayed or getting another injury after he returns, particularly given his history. Also likely to be eased back in and possibly play forward for a bit meaning lower scores.

Plenty of factors saying "Trade me please". Trades are important but the are also there to serve a purpose and each situation needs to be assessed on it's merits.

Westhoff has a possible broken foot.

Peter Burgoyne has gone off with what apparently is cramp but it looked heaps worse than that. Was not walking on one of his feet (i forget which side) and it looked to me like it could have been an ankle.

Was his right foot/leg.

Looked far worse than cramp, he wasn't putting any weight on it at all.

ffs this Westhoff injury is killing me now with Hentschel also going down.

Westhoff was a good pick that i was certain would improve this year and he looked like averaging at least 10 more ppw. Now i gotta burn a trade on something most others dont have.

was at the game today and peter burgoyne was right in front of me when he started hobbling

i'd be staggered if it was anything other than cramp.

he tried to lay a tackle got up - and then reached sharply for his leg.

he spent about 30seconds trying to stretch his quad out - the trainer came and carried him off (with another)

he went to the bench without any medical attention - and continued stretching hs quad

he is in my team so you can imagine i paid special attention

i give him the thumbs up for next week!!!! :thumbsu:

Well you and I are no medicos but thats pretty much what you do when you get a cramp. If it was a strain he would have been iced up immediately.
