2009 Trade Discussion Part 2

Thoughts on Scott Thompson (Adel)? Looks set to go under $400k in a week or 2, and has been a proven DTer over the past few years.

I had him last year because I think he has a game suited to DT, and is pretty durable. Have hardly seen his name this year so just wondering if people think he will score well this year. The only reason I didn't pick him was because I went for Swan, Ablett and Kornes as my 3 mid guns this year.

otten to corey for mine

like last year ill keep rich (2008 palmer) until my last upgrade, the odds are he will average 85, which will be better than half the other players that need upgrading.

Rich will not average 85, or even 80 IMO. Most likely he will sit somewhere between 70-75 come year's end.

Exactly.

People are too focused on picking "this years Rioli or Palmer". Palmer ended up being Freo's number 1 midfielder because they were hopeless and they had nobody else. He was also considered a ball magnet rather than an effective player. Rich appears to be the other way around. I think he will start to plateau in the next few weeks (probably round 8?) and with Beams on the field as well, I want to have $300k in the bank to upgrade both of these guys to guns. I think they'll be solid rookies, but I'd prefer to pick up a gun when they've had a few bad games.

I picked the same 3 gun mids and i have Scotty on my watch list too :) I am going to wait 4-5 weeks though because i think he will get to the 370k mark.

Hey everybody need some thoughts looking at this week trading stephen hill for michael quinn and mitch robinson for jaxson barham and then next week gettn rid of skippy for either riewoldting, dids or nathan brown.

Cheers slider

ok well look back at the end of the season and see what he averaged.

if i am proved wrong then so be it, but to tell you the truth i was at the gabba on friday night for the lions v pies game, and rich when played on the ball looked the best out of the lot for the lions. he hit the lines hard and his kicking was emaculate. IMO he is only to improve

I have Thomas (yes biggest mistake ever :p), Mackay, Houlihan, Tuck and the Krak Attack, and these are probably the players I will be basing on to trade and make some cash from.
Im really looking into Lockyer at the moment, I was really that close to getting him at the start of the year and now desperatly want him (in the backline, not in the midfield). Also is there any news on Adcock? If hes out this week I will have to trade him or Raines so I dont cop a 0.

So I can
1) Downgrade Robinson --> 86k player
Next week
Downgrade Otten --> 86k player
Downgrade M.Brown --> 86k player
Then the week after
Houlihan --> Lockyer
Mackay --> Gun around 420k

This is alot of trades so im pretty hesitant about it..

2) Downgrade Mackay to Hartlett
Houlihan --> Lockyer
Next week
Robinson/Brown --> 86k player
Tuck --> Gun?

Im not too sure this will work, ill mix around with too serious to have a look if I will have enough money to upgrade Tuck.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks :)

No offence mate, but Hill for Quinn is a terrible trade. Wait another week before pulling the trigger on Robinson for Barham

Well i got hill as a reserve so just using that trade to get some room in the cap and also got raines coming back soon so hill would drop to my second reserve. Prolly looking at keeping robinson for another week and then trade him in for barham and upgrading skippy to riewoldt or dids.

How does that sound saint KFC

Ok, going to wait a week then do

Out: Ottens, Shaw
In: Simmonds/Hille, Hodge

that uses 2 of my 5 reserved injury trades
Why would you think about Simmonds he has been awful. IMO he is finished and I am seriously considering trading him. He hasnt played a good game all year, has low TOG and if he doesnt improve may get dropped for youth.

Hill looks like being an okay cash cow, has scores of 73 and 50 in his rolling average this week. I will be keeping him and using him as a cashcow, but if you want to trade him out don't let me stop you

Yeah I definitely wouldnt be getting Simmonds until he shows some serious improvement. I traded him out for Kreuzer before all the price changes, pretty happy I did now.

Well hill breakeven this week is -4 so mite keep him for another week where robinson is 50 this week and after last couple of weeks will struggle to get that i reckon so mite trade him this week for barham and then next week trade out hill for broughton from freo and get either riewoldt or dids for skipworth.
But thanks for ur opinion anyways its been helpfull.

Hille or Simmonds are the only ones below Ottens

Leaning towards Hille, as he is more likely to pull his finger out quicker, and his spot isnt under question
I dont think Simmonds will be dropped anytime soon, but I would deffiently go Hille although his form looks too be off too.
I have Hille at the moment, and he is very fustrating so there are better options available.

Why not Petrie?
