2009 Trade Discussion - Part 3

hey would it be stupid to trade out nathan brown for warren to gain a shite load of cash.. or should I trade him out for a riewoldt/chapman (sideways I know)

there is the option of not trading him but I've got no playing cover and I really don't want the zero. Any thoughts are appreciated.

At this stage of the season you should cop the zero. He isn't going to be that long out that you should be okay. Who are your forward bench?

Well, TBH, you have put abit of doubt in my mind about my thoery, but I'll stick with it anyway.

My theory would be to get Greenwood in for Petrenko in one week, then DeBoer in for Dangerfield in 2 weeks, then I could bring in Cross/Corey/Kornes for Haselby, while bringing in Mackie/Enright for Hill. Will think about it alot.

Haha I have planted the seed in your mind. That plan sounds good to me. Having another look at Greenwood before putting him in next week is a good idea.

I have had Cross in previous years but am not a massive fan as he handballs far too much. I will might do DDD > Corey next week. But also want to get Franklin in before he plays us.

Hey my fwd line is:
Deledio
S.Johnson
Didak
Higgins
Skipworth
Ziebell
M.Brown
Walker
W.Thompson

Thoughts on sideways trading Thompson to Warren? Don't want to cop a fwd 0. Have 19 trades left.

I want to upgrade Dempsey - as i thought he'd kill it - however after just 1 good game in 5 i have lost patience

I can either do

Dempsey -> Mackie

or

Petrenko -> Greenwood
&
Dempsey to S Fisher/Hodge plus $50k to upgrade cloke to a fallen forward premium in a few weeks.

My only issue is i haven't seen greenwood - and although he scored well, did he play well?

Edit: I guess i am keen to get rid of both as i think they'll both fall in value again!!

unsure whether to cash in ziebell at this early stage,
if i go ziebell -> warren
then do skipworth -> goodwin/franklin/brown

uncertainty comes from the fact that ziebell still has some potential profit, however those 3 targets seem to be near or at their minimum and there are no downgrade targets coming thru soon, so this would be the week to jump on warren.

is it worth it?

Not in my team. FFGEnie has his real price at just under 300k, thats another 70k your missing and a trade your using. I will be looking at upgrading Rich when one of my targets gets to the right price or beams is ready to be downgraded. Rich has a chance of going down this week but he will kewp going up after that IMO

yeah but...

if you want Harltett, this is the week to do it and Rich is closer to his peak than say Otten and Robinson is just a sideways trade

Idefinately wouldnt trade ziebel. IMO has alot more money to make. You may consider trading a walker or even a brown but IMHO dont trade ziebel yet.

Hille -> Petrie
Dempsey -> Hargrave/Bock/Mackie/Embley

leaves me with about ~30k

next week,

Petrenko -> Greenwood

should leave me with ~90k and 16 trades with Rich/Walker/Brown just about ready to downgrade I reckon and allow me to upgrade the likes of Hasleby and Houlihan to a Corey and Franklin respectively. Also should be boosted by NG Brown, Didak, Anthony, Raines and Broughton playing again.

Is it really worth downgrading Travis Tuck to Hamish Hartlett.

I have 19 trades but quite a few injuries to cover, and need to make a trade in FWD line, but it seems that trading Tuck will be the only way I can get an immediate injection of cash to get me a gun in the foward line.

However, I feel bad about trading Tuck. I still feel he has the potential to score big and it feels like a trade that I may regret later on.

the struggle with walker and brown is the lack of any obvious downgrade targets

still waiting on the likes of ballantyne or sidebottom to make an appearance

Probably going to upgrade Dempsey. Got a few options in mind.

Considering downgrading Walker to Warren though, which will leave me with 100-150K or so for my next upgrade, depending on who i upgrade Dempsey to.

Don't particularly want to trade Walker down yet, as he hasn't made quite enough IMO.

Thoughts? Maybe even Hentschel down, but that's only 40K which probably isn;t quite enough.

Have been scoring well, but only had 2 bench players playing last week..

This week thinking I will probably trade Dalziell to Sewell for my first trade & that will leave me with $70,300 left in the bank.

My second trade is the one i'm not sure about. Here are my options -

1/ (Forward line consists of Richo with H.G.Brown & Skippy sitting on the pine.) so if I trade Skippy for bench cover in case Richo doesn't play ($321,100 to play with) Best options would be Wiggins ($306,200) or J.Russell ($290,500) both avg. about the same approx. 82 or who else???

2/ If Richo plays use my second trade - Out: Robinson In: Barham or Hartlett (As I have a few stale cows like Cheney , Robinson , Walker etc.)

3/ Take the chance that Richo plays & just use the 1 trade.

He gets the number 1 tag every week. Now with Palmer out he will cop even more attention from the opposition team.

His scores so far this year are 55, 69, 107, 75 and 64.

He has only got the ton 1 all other scores were no where near it. I guarantee you he will not get the ton;)
Hmmmmmm....

Did you end up trading him out?

Looks like Taylor Walker has gotten a bit long in the tooth. Thought I'd back him for 1 more week and it cost me 6K.

Looks like an upgrade is on the cards. Liking Gia's price...

Cloke who is Cloke....

*Looks at his team missing Cloke*
I thought about downgrading suban/walker and upgrading cloke to deledio, so naturally, deledio will score 140 today. Agh.

Surely cloke must come good eventually though? Surely! Was it just because rocca was out???? I think i will pencil him in for next year. :p

I would start a new thread but i do i cant as i am new but, there are quite a few mids posting some large consistent scores.

it has been widely considered that everyone would most likely like to then there seasons with midfields along the lines of:

Bartel / Ablett / Corey / Kornes / Gibbs / ?

personally i can see a few players perhaps having higher averages this year than kornes and corey.

what do people think of bringing in guys like salopek/priddis/boyd/sewell? is there any great value in the mids right now?
