Problem with this analysis is that it assumes that richo is the player you would get if you bought someone today.

If you bought a Goodwin (355k) or Pavlich (373k) today, if they score as well, or almost as well as richo, you are going to be better off.

Further, this would leave richo as an option for your next forward upgrade...

Good point, I had shortsightedly forgot about Pav as I have him. I think he represents really great value. Goodwin, not so much. But yes, if you can get in Pav or possibly Lids then that may well work very well. If Richo misses a week (or possibly even if he doesn't) it still leaves you with enough time to downgrade one of Brown/Walker and pick up Richo in 2 games time.

Thinking either...

Robinson --> Collins/Barham (but not convinced on either).
Petrenko --> Hodge (or Cheney --> Mackie)

or

Walker --> Warren (would then start 2 of Ziebell/Brown/Warren)
Petrenko/Cheney --> Hodge

I've been starting Walker since round 1, and Petrenko since round 2 so it'd be nice to get Hodge in there!

Thoughts?

I like option 1 better :thumbsu:.

Robinson has been dropped and Walker is still contributing, so is likely to keep his spot. So it would be less risky going with option one.

PS. Guys i am still undecided about who to trade in for Skippy. Tossing up between Leon Davis and Buddy. Can't decide!!!

I think Walker will keep his spot ahead Petrenko but you never know!
Wait till the teams are announced.

Im stoked, I can afford to do my trades and with only 1k left - just fell enough.

.

am thinking of bringing in hodge or s fisher this week and couldn't decide

was thinking of

garlett -> sidebottom

then Dempey upgraded.

however i laughed when i was $200 short of hodge but had the exact money for fisher

then again - bringing in a rookie who hasn't even played smacks of desperation - so may do petrenko to greenwood

just my musings - so take with a grain of salt

as hawthorn piece their squad back together - they will start winning more games and get quality ball up to franklin

glass was all over franklin and beat him fairly well - however you could tell when quick ball got up there - you just can't stop him

so when the hawks get some midefield dominance back - franklin will fire up again

Neon Neon's in top form, great form. Ripped us up and could continue this great form for another half a dozen weeks yet. Gets midfield time, cheap disposals off HF also; Looks a good option.

While i agree with that, the fact that Franklin looks IMHO overweight and underdone in terms of preseason, he has a higher scope to score, but i can see Davis averaging a solid 100 this year, hes playing as a utility and always pops up for 1-2 goals a game, im tossing up the same trade.

What are your thoughts on Greenwood, you think he will hold his spot for a bit now Lachie Hansen's injured?

My problem is i have Cheney, Petrenko, Raines and Broughton..

Adelaide BF board are all saying he should keep his spot, i doubt it. Raines wont be back this week i dont think, Broughton and Cheney unlikely, im hoping atleast one gets a call up so i can tade either Cheney or Petrenko to Greenwood, but i dont know much about the bloke..

What are peoples thoughts?

Maybe Davis filled Didak's boots while he was out?

Just a thought.

He certainly did last year. When Dids was out at the end of the year, he would have averaged near a hundred the whole time.

hey guys what do u think

i have harvey in the midfield

so was thinking harvey to Cogs

then upgrade raines to mackie/fisher/embly

if i do this then all my defense will be upgraded

therefore

cornes/goddard/enright/hodge/mundy/gilbert and M/F/E

therefore would have to have Cogs as my 6th mid

too risky

Hille>Kreuzer 315k in bank

Big big decisions this week, and too many options.

Harvey > Volt/Pav/Davis/O'Keefe/Gia
Harvey > bench and wait
Walker > O'Keefe, cheap option so don't blow all the cash.
Petrenko > Mackie will cost me 197k to do, loathed to spend that much on 1 upgrade.
Bird> pretty much anyone...Jimmy/Selwood/Mitchell/Cross/Corey.....yes Bird was a ordinary choice and I can't see him improving a great deal.

Gewd chosing 1 trade this week is gunna give me boils. Weakest spots are Petrenko, Walker, Hill, followed closely by Cloke

Yep, I'm looking at offloading him also; But next week. Gets bugger all game time.

is it time to boot travis tuck? with a b/e of 90 this week against the blues may well be time to upgrade him if i didnt have so many other pressing issues

5 games into the season and I think I will bite the bullet on Malceski. He's been played up forward and down back, and he's still struggling to post a score higher than 80, with an average of about 65. He's still at 285k, so an upgrade to Hodge or Fisher is on the cards. Both are similar price with similar B/E.

Still undecided on Hodge or Fisher. I'm leaning towards Fisher, as the saints are rippin it up which contributes to large DT scores for the team overall. However Hodge has the higher ceiling, and may not be this cheap again. He only saved his score this weekend in the final few minutes of the last quarter with some major junk time stats...

Interesting.

Now I think that makes Didak more appealing when he comes back. He will become very cheap soon.

I just checked the actualy stats, its was 97.3 over the final 6 games of the season that Dids misses (including finals). That includes one score of 47 against the saints in the EF, so if you take that away its even higher.

I am really keen to include Hamish Hartlett into my side.

I have very good cash cows at the moment, in Otten, Rich, and Beams. I also have Hasleby who has a ver high B/E but i think he still has a lot to prove.

The main reason I want Hartlett in my team isn't s much for cash, but for security. IMO i think he will play out the rest of the year, and if Ablett does a hammy in round 17, when trades are vital; it's invaluable to have a reserve who can come on and give you somewhere between 60-120 points. Can be the differance between an Aurion and the car you already have.

Obviously he will provide you with a lot of cash, but for me I have enough cash being generated and he will play a role as a vital backup.

Thoughts?

I need ~100k in order to fund my Skippy->Buddy trade...

Contemplating Rich->Hartlett. Sure Rich may rise another 30,40,50k... but I have very few options atm.

99.9% sure I wont go down this avenue, but its just a thought.

Just thought of a potential (though risky) trading masterstroke.

Seeing as though at the moment there is an increasingly limited supply of rookies coming through the ranks I was thinking of doing this.

This week:
Robinson ---> Barham = Gain in safety and potential points
Rich ---> Hartlett = Don't really lose much but make big dollars. Rich's BE this week is over 60 and I have Otten for the same price with a BE in the teens. Best option.

That leaves me with $252 800 when you include the $90 300 i have in the bank currently. Then next week it gets exciting.

Skipworth ---> Pav = Assuming Pav only makes his BE of 96 (Come on Glassy work him over) his price will stay roughly the same. This leaves me with 130200 still to spend.
Otten ---> Lids (contingency = Hodge, Bateman, Kirk) = Otten's BE this week is only 18. If he can muster up the usual 70 odd I can see his price rising to 250k odd. With Lids' BE being a massive 128 on top of this even though I'd be found wanting for cash this week I think after next round I'd be ok.

This is a massive gamble but if it pulls off my best 22 in goes from

Backs - Doesn't matter for this

Selwood
Gibbs
Pendlebury
Boak
Hasleby
Rich -------------> Deledio

Rucks - See backs

Higgins
Skipworth -------------> Pavlich
Franklin
G Brown
Lucas
Thomas
Porplyzia

Notes: This will leave me with 14 trades as I have used only 2 so far. Also to free up about another 13k I could go Cockie instead of Barham in the Robinson trade giving me a little more security money wise but less assurance point scoring and safety wise.

I would love opinions on this idea as I reckon its a gamble but it could reap massive rewards if it comes to fruition.

looking like im gonna pull the trigger this week with my first double trade .. have 18 in the bank

atm its either
Robinson > Braham
Haselby > Mitchell

or

M.Brown > Dowler
Skipworth > Rioli .. im feeling Cyril could be a pretty decent 6-7th forward
all depends on thursday night of course, but something to think about

I think you will need at least 2 of ABC in your final mids to be competitive.

I agree, if you mean c as chapman :p

The reason I started with both has been somewhat backed up this week, with both now heading around 500K i cant imagine thinking how the **** can i get these blokes in, similar with Cox. Im now looking to bring in mids falling around 370-380K Marc Murphy instead of trying to find another 100K.

This week I'm going to go Robinson -> Harlett, Walker -> Warren.

Next week Hill -> Hodge/Mackie

Week after -> Cash in Zaha, upgrade Beams to Murphy/Corey.

Leaves me with

Goddard Chornes Fisher Hodge Adcock
Houlihan Raines
Ablett Bartel Chornes Murphy Otten Rich em Hartlett Anthony
Cox Kruezer
Riewoldt Deledio N.Brown Franklin Goodwin Higgins Krakouer

12 trades to upgrade Otten Rich Raines. and hopefully a cross trade of houlihan and Krakouer if needed.
