Ok, 1 trade left for the week. I took the advice and thus I'm very likely to go D.Thomas -> Riewoldt... But if I do that, I'll only have 72k left meaning I won't have too many options to upgrade Rich for the finals. Any other options? Should I upgrade Rich to Lenny now? Or could I go for a cheaper safer option and trade Rich to Selwood, then for next week I should have a simple forward upgrade with 115k in the bank (probably SJ). Also, Tom Williams is playing against the Saints this week, he'll give Roo a lot more competition than Morris can... probably.

Oh and FWIW, I have 191k in the bank now.

Well, just decided to bugger what everyone said, and went Cox -> White, Malceski -> Gram. We'll see how it works out.
Mate - hats off to you and a BIG thumbs up for backing your own judgement and taking a risk. Sure it might not pay off, but even if it doesnt you at least know it was your own selection.

For every montagna, theres a simon buckley, troy simmonds and travis cloke (theyre my selections in 2009). But you have to learn from it:

1) Dont pick players with injury concerns, especially when you are uncertain of their durability history (buckley)
2) Dont pick ageing players (simmonds, and also other players)
3) Dont pick KP players as breakout contenders/from the start :)p) - pick the more midfielder/smaller type forward/backs (cloke)

3 terrible ones, but at least i have learnt from these mistakes (hopefully) and can see why they went wrong and thus limit these errors in the future.

Good luck mate, and again - kudos to you!

anyone know when or if meyer(port) or muston will be back this year? I got one trade left and want to upgrade adcock on the bench in the backs but my only cover inthe mids is thos two. If those two dont come back i will needto save the trades for the mids...anyone know?

I'm trying to decide between Gram and Duffield. My fremantle bias tells me to pick Duffield, but I know very little about Gram and I see that he scored 134 last week.

Could somebody who supports neither Freo or the saints please give me an opinion on this?

Duffield Duffield Duffield.

I went Gram, theory being that I have Fisher, Goddard and Dawson from their backline anyway, and they chip it around so much may as well mop up all the points. ;)

But nah, I just reckon Gram will outscore Duffield by a fair bit, and isn't he in doubt for this week's match?

Meyer was named as an emergency last week which gave me the impression (hope?) he might have been working his way back into the 22. This week however he is nowhere to be seen on their extended extended extended bench, so he's off the radar again. At the moment it would seem blokes like Davenport, Hartlett and Broadbent are ahead of him.

Muston was apparently BOG in the reserves last week but was always going to find it tough to break into last weeks winning team. Not even named as an emergency this week, seems to be out of favour.

I'm in a dilemma for who to trade Cox for. I am considering either:

a) Sandilands and then use my other trade this week to do Walker to Franklin
b) Jolly and then I will have enough cash to do M.Brown to Riewoldt

Which one is better?
Of those 2, b. Sandi just coming back from injury whereas Jolly has looked solid. Not convinced that Franklin is "back" and a tough run home, Riewoldt a far surer bet.

Based on Gram's recent form I'd grab him, especially considering the fact that Freo play Geelong at skilled in rnd 22

I don't have as much cash to spend and need to trade Grimes, could I please get some opinions on whether I should pick up Enright, Bock, or Hodge??

I really don't know who I should pick, what do you guys reckon?

I would go Enright, Bock and Hodge in that order. In fact I wouldn't even consider Hodge, only a matter of time before he is yanked.

It's Haselby and Tarrant in doubt this week, not Duffield. My team contains 1 saints player (montagna) and I should probably have more, whilst my backline contains 3 freo players (pearce, broughton & suban) so another freo player is very risky.

I wouldn't have touched Hodge a fornight ago but have been watching him closely and he looks like he's moving really well... is a risk though
You'd have to think that once they lose to Geelong and St. Kilda in 2 weeks that it will be season over and curtains for Hodge. Playing on with a suspect groin can't be doing him any good.

Enright and Bock safer bets, but it's your call.

I think i have had 3 freo players in my backline for most of the year and it has worked pretty well:thumbsu:

I might have to bite the bullet this week and trade out Cox. All I am hearing about the place is that he is likely to be out for the season. I'm pretty safely in finals, and have two trades left, and cash is no issue for my final trade.

Thoughts on whether or not it is worth trading Cox yet, and if so, who would be the best option?

Jolly (best season to date, durable)
Petrie (Consistent scorer, bit out of form, durable)
Sandilands (Best tap ruckman, but coming off injury - how severe?)
Clark (in top form, unsure of durability, can he keep his scores up?)

Outofthegloom, Id get Jolly...seems in form currently and you can always count on 40 odd hitouts.

Ok need advice please!

Got 2 trades left, looking to hold onto my top 4 spot! Im currently playing Houlihan, Broughton and Grimes (out), with Adcock and Petrenko on the bench.

With $100k in the bank, my plans were to go Adcock > Goddard, and hold onto my last trade to upgrade Hasleby to a gun should I get far into the finals.

BUT if I went Adcock > Lockyer, I would have more cash to get someone like Montagna/Ablett/Hayes as opposed to a $400k mid. This all depends on Haslebys price however.

Thoughts?

I have enough money in the bank to afford any midfielder in the competition, who would be the best pick? I already have Gibbs, Selwood and Kornes.

swan. most durable, highest scorer, great captain option, hardly gets tagged, good run home. cant go wrong

i have 5 trades left and 186k

looking to upgrade adcock > Goddard this week.
i still need to do 1 more big upgrade to a forward for krakoer, question is should i jump on buddy this week because they are similar price or wait till later on to upgrade
current side
Cornes,Hodge,Broughton,Grimes,Lockyer,Bock, Adcock (Post,Suban)

Bartel,Swan,Corey,Judd,Selwood,Rich (Anthony,musten)

Mcintosh, Sandilands (White,Pike)

Revolt,Pavlich,Higgins,Fevola,Didak,Delidio,Krakoer, (Sidebottom, Ballentyne)

Is Swan worth the $499,700 price tag though, that's $87000 more than Bartell?
By saying you have enough money to get any midfielder it is implied you don't care about the cost. IMO it depends on your team if it needs anymore upgrades whether you get Swan or someone like Bartel or Hayes.
