I thought it was about time this thread was started back up again after some discussion (with a tosser called Lakey :p;)) about who was going to miss Round 1 due to suspension.

Here is a few that I can think of to start things off.

Chris Judd 3 games
Mark McVeigh 1 game
Nathan Lovett Murray 2 games
Chance Bateman 1 game
Troy Chaplin 1 game
Drew Petrie 2 games
Lance Franklin 1 game (remaining from a 2 game ban)

Not all those guys are DT relevant but its a handy reminder.

I thought this thread worked well last year IMO :thumbsu:

Solomon may retire ASAP... freo can elevate a rookie of their rookie list... at first thoughts.. Matt deboer... hopefully micheal barlow..

Who will fill the spot in the 22 at freo.. could have DT implications.. at least for cash cows.. If anything sures up Morabitos chances of more playing time..

Thoughts?

At the moment they have 1 spot (due to Tim Ruffles on the LTI list). So it is between Barlow and deBoer.
If Solly retiring is correct, then I'd say they both will come onto the senior list.
Jay Van Berlo might be considered as well, but I think they favour the other two. The rest would stay as rookie listed.

I doubt any of the players will have an impact. Harvey has said that he will bring rookies along slowly. He played plenty of rookies last year due to injuries. If those injured players get back and play well, I think they'll replace half of those youngsters that played last year.

I think Mora will be the only Freo rookie who gets an opportunity to play 15 to 20 games this year.

Great thread. If possible, do you reckon we could have in the OP (even if mods edit it throughout the year) a section with each team and players who have any query hanging over their heads listed?

Also, any players who have been on modified programs/have some injury rumours surrounding them would be good to list in here.

You can add Knights to that long list :(

http://www.afc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4417/newsid/89782/default.aspx

Adelaide forward Chris Knights has a stress fracture in his left foot and will be sidelined for up to six weeks.

This was not the injury he was initially treated for last week.

Knights was using a moon boot as part of his treatment for plantar fasciitis, which was causing pain in his heel.

Head medical officer Andrew Potter said: “Late last week Chris was aware of pain and swelling further down the foot towards the toes. An investigation (MRI scan) on the weekend revealed a stress fracture. Chris will continue to have treatment for both plantar fasciitis and the stress fracture.”

On a brighter note Bock, Tippett and Thompson should be right to play this Friday night.

Gumbleton has overcome his back injury scare last week, has been training fully and could play in the Challenge match against Melbourne this weekend.

All i have to say is... Mitchell looks even better (sush..) :)

- Down a ruckman
- No burgoyne (hammy)
- Rioli under injury clouds (groin/OP)
- Sewell gone
- Young still out

Seems like the support surrounding mitchell that had been a big positive is slowly falling off - I think he could get some very hard tags early in the year.

Unfortunately it could be hodge who cops the hard tags if the return to the midfield come into effect. Though I think 80% of the top teams will have him in their backline so wont be such a bad thing if he has the odd bad score.
