Re: Round 18 Trades

May have to cut losses with Grimes

Definitely. Listed as 2-3 weeks still, which means there's every chance the Dees are putting him on ice for the rest of the season. Even if he is back in three weeks, that will take you deep into finals with a backup on the ground.

I'm trading Grimes for Gilbee. Also leaning towards Tippett for Riewoldt or Didak. The problem is the forward line I was so proud of a few weeks ago has gone to s**t. J. Brown, P. Davis, Fyfe, Tippett, O'Keefe, Pods.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Wasn't looking at trading Silvagni but now he's out for 3 weeks looking to take his cash for a young bloke likely to play in last few rounds. Should have gone Ash Smith from the Eagles last week but he's now up $74k. Next rookie on the bubble is Moore from the Power but with his first two games producing scores of 42 & 36 it isn't instilling me with huge confidence.

Thoughts???

I reckon JS only okay because the new coach will want to try as many players as possible (then again I would say that because I am jaded from having him in my starting team!). The MPP is useful though depending on what's in your forwards.

Re: Round 18 Trades

i have 4 trades left, and like most people i want to get Roo. The problem is i need to get rid of C.Cornes aswell this week, so i have a few options im thinking of and any advice would ge great.

option 1
C.Cornes > Fisher/Waite (have 506k to spend aleady got gilbee and Enight)
dont bother with Roo and save those 3 trades.

option 2
C.Cornes > Fisher/Waite
Rockcliff > Riewoldt

option 3
C.Cornes > to anyone under 460k (Gilbert, Scotland, Hurn)
Pods > Riewoldt

Would much rather keep Rockcliff than Pods though as an emergency, but i dont know what player to get that is under 460k in my backline.

Probably Duffield. Although Shaw is exactly 460k if you have that much.

Re: Round 18 Trades

I have 4 trades left

Option 1 Straight swap J.Brown in for Fyfe

or

Option 2 Downgrade a bench player in order to make the cash to bring in Riewoldt?

Re: Round 18 Trades

Looking for opinions on the best out of these three options. I've got three trades left at the moment and a forward line of Pav, Goodes, ROK, Brown, Higgins, Franklin, Pods with Gumby on the bench. I've made finals in all three leagues already but I'm more interested in my overall position.

Option 1)
Howlett --> McNeil. Playfair --> Reiwoldt.

Leaves me with Higgins as a really solid mid/forward cover but only $10k in the bank for my final trade which would really limit my options.

Option 2)
Hams --> 83.4k rookie. Higgins --> Riewoldt

Keeps $150k for my final trade to be an upgrade but I have Howlett, aka Knights' whipping boy, as my only midfield cover until Shuey actually plays.

Option 3)
No trade.

Re: Round 18 Trades

If you're only interested in overall and you're willing to roll the dice I'd go with option 1, but in saying that it could cost you points if you only have 1 trade left and you're missing more than 1 player from your line up leaving you with a donut for 1 or more weeks.

Personally I wouldn't trade.

Re: Round 18 Trades

ive got 2 trades left and $30000, as much as i want to bring in riewoldt for pods or rockliff ive gotta save trades for the finals.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Am holding off for the week. 4 trades, 39k in the bank.

Most likely Riewoldt in, Ballantyne out (plus a downgrade).

2 left going into the finals.

Re: Round 18 Trades

All or nothing this week! Lose and I'm out. what a horrible year.

Pods out, Roo In
Maguire out, Scotland In, was going to be Shaw.

Sound OK? Any other decent options for that Defenders position?

NicNat survives another week.

This will leave me $75K and 2 trades. For either the B grade Qualifying or the Elimination final.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Hall or Pods for Riewoldt?

Both are inconsistent, but Pods seemds to only play well at Skilled Stadium...they are playing there once more this year against WCE and that is in the finals.

Pods is out for this week also so i'm tempted to trade him...

3 trades left $148k left in the bank.

Had the same problem as you. 3 trades left, $110k in the bank. Decided to bite the bullet and go Pods>>Riewoldt.

Means I won't be able to go to Chappy, but Riewoldt should start hitting his straps soon.

Should I got NicNat>>>Ryder? Not sure if it's worth it with 2 trades left.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Out: H.Shaw (Collingwood)
In: J.Kelly (Geelong)

Need some extra cover for my backline, my main emergency is not playing this week... since i had 8 trades remaining i can afford to switch players around.

My other area of concern is the midfield, Simon Black is listed to play for Brisbane this week.... hopefully he gets through it unscathed if he does indeed play. I've put him back in the main 22 and Daniel Rich into the reserves list (still an emergency though).

Re: Round 18 Trades

i may have committed supercoach suicide....only had three trades left and i used two of them this week

goodwin >gilbert

pods > riewoldt...

one trade left, 142k in the kitty, ranked 360 overall, not really worried about league....

good luck to all and in particular me with injuries:eek::eek:

still have heath shaw missing, silvagni, martin and gysberts, warnock and trengove and fyfe and davis as my bench cover

Had to be done in your situation. What about this one? I was set to trade Grimes this week, but I've still got Maguire lingering like a stale f**t on my team and he's been dropped. At this stage of the year would you trade Grimes or Maguire?

NicNat>>Ryder is almost a sideways trade. I'd probably save your last 2 for now.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Tossing up between Sewell or Hayes to replace Bartel in my side.

I know Hayes gets a heap of the ball but he doesn't seem to score big big scores regularly and i know his average score is better than Sewells but i think Sewell is starting to hit his straps since nearly being dropped.

I had him in my side last year and he was massive for me and i'm starting to see similar things in the last couple of weeks.

Nick Riewoldt for J-Pod the other trade for me

trades are awful so dont, but instead........

go back to the B grade finals - at least youll play for 4 more weeks lol

Re: Round 18 Trades

got the same problem and was about to make a comment

got 4 trades and 393900 in the bank

last week davis getting dropped, shaw and silgvagni getting injured gave me a donut, i need shaw back, was going up grade goose but now it will be silgvagni but hope fully do him next week, but if enright is rested then i am stuffed again

this week as per OP its roo in

got a choice of fyfe, hitchcock, gumby and watts

gumby and watts are likely to play rest of year so if pods is rested i can play one them

Do I trade fyfe or hitch?

then do my back upgrade next week

then downgrade martin or bastinac in 3 weeks

and upgrade most valuable b grader fwd as last trade in rnd 22

goose dropped, shaw still out, need davis to play or 2 donughts:eek:

will to fyfe to roo

Re: Round 18 Trades

I'm just struggling to bring myself to do Silvagni > Moore cash grab. Can just see me trading him in this week and getting the arse next week. Have Webberley as my other benchie.

C'mon guys, fill me with confidence.......please!

I won't fill you with confidence, I'll just say that any rookie you pick up at this time of year has somewhat questionable JS, so he's no worse than any of the other options. So long as he's your F9, or if you have the MPP activated, don't worry about it.

Re: Round 18 Trades

I'm thinking of cashing in my last 2 trades for Skipper > Bellchambers & P Davis > N. Riewoldt

My side will look like as follows;
B. Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Gilbert, H Shaw, Goodwin, Waters (Webberley, O'Brien MPP)
C. Ablett, Judd, Montagna, Deledio, J Selwood, Goodes (Gysberts, McNeil MPP)
R. Sandilands, Tippett (Warnock, Bellchambers)
F. Chapman, Pavlich, N Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Franklin, Waite, Podsiadly (Ballantyne, Lobbe MPP)

What are peoples thoughts?
If I get any injuries or players ar rested I basically put Ballantyne on the field and rotate my MPP players around.. Could even use Tippett in fwd line and use Warnock as 2nd ruck if there are a couple of players out..
