Re: Round 17 Trades

Pods to Roo this week anyone?

Both of them are set to drop in price by roughly $20k so I don't see that theres much to be gained by waiting til Riewoldt bottoms out next week. Although Pods is playing Brisbane at skilled this week.

Pods will be playing West Coast at Skilled in Grand Final week so I'll be keeping JPod so a Cat player doesn't sink me in the granny (if I make it).

regards,

REB

Re: Round 17 Trades

I just did waters to hargrave, holy crap I hope he keeps getting better and doesnt get injured. I'm sitting at second in my league and I'm finally playing the leage leader for the top spot this week.

Only a couple of other possible upgrades, hall to roo, and maybe pods or gia to another premo.

3 trades left, 127k in the bank.

haha this is funny. You upgrade to a player that averages less than the player you had on the back of one playing a couple of good games in a row and the other having a few bad ones. Mind blowing stuff

And why did the bloke above pick up Cameri instead of Smith who will play the rest of the year?

Re: Round 17 Trades

going to trade in goodes after that there will be 3 trades left.I'm thinking one big down grade (martin on pine) and 2 biggish up grades eg waters to gilbee and nick nic a nudi to sandi or up grade a forward to roo

Hold off on Roo till finals when you can get him for peanuts. He will drop another $30,000+ after this week easily

Re: Round 17 Trades

Is there any midfield rookies I can pick up this week?

MID's to keep an eye on: (All playing their first game this weekend)
MCMILLAN-PITTARD, Jasper
(BRL) HARWOOD, Ryan
(NTH) MACMILLAN, Jamie
(ESS) HARDINGHAM, Kyle
(FRE) CRICHTON, Jesse
(FRE) BOLLENHAGEN, Justin

DEF
(SYD) REID, Sam * First Game
(WCE) SMITH, Ashley (playing his 3rd game)

FWD
(SYD) DENNIS-LANE, Trent (playing his 3rd game)

Re: Round 17 Trades

i have 5 trades left and am sitting in the top 2 in all 3 of my leagues

im thinking of trading out waters but am not sure of who to get, i think i will keep pods as i read that he plays against west coast at skilled in gf week. Any suggestions for trades would be much appreciated

i have 107,500 in the bank

DEF: Malceski Gilbert Gilbert Duffield Goodwin Waters Strjk Suban Daniher

MID: Hodge Goddard Ablett Cooney Judd Martin Morabito Gysberts

RUCK: Sandilands Tippett Warnock Lobbe

FOR: Chapman Harvey O'Keefe Goodes Rioli Podsiadly Dangerfield Fyfe Gumbleton

Re: Round 17 Trades

Just did Dangerfield for Didak. 5 trades remaining $254,100 in the bank.

Still need to bring in Goddard and Lake and I'm done. Sitting 3rd in my league

Re: Round 17 Trades

ok, sorted.
Webberly to Ash Smith
Hitchcock to TDL
Freeing up around $290k....will do Fyfe to Roo costing about 100k next week or the week after.
Leaves me with $190k and 3 trades
DEF: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Gilbee, Gilbert, Enright, Shaw (A Smith, Roberton)
MID: Ablett, Montagna, Selwood, Judd, Cooney and ROK (JKT, Gysberts)
RUCK: Sandi, Tippet (Trengove, Warnock)
FWD: Pav, Harvey, Goodes, Roo, Pods, Franklin, J Brown. (Davis, TDL)

Who would you target as an upgrade for the first final? Tippet, J brown or Gilbert I would see as the weakest links?

thanks mate l'll wait till super coach finals start my l hope gsyberts gets a game,l'm planing on down grading martin (in a few weeks) if no injury's touch wood so l can up grade waters and either nic nat or a forward sitting 4th in one league and second in other.

Re: Round 17 Trades

If u can hold off a week Goddard will drop about $20,000 next week as he needs to get 175 to break even.

So even if he gets about 120ish he will be dropping in the $20k - $30 range.
Yeah, I guess I could. But i'm prepared to pay another 20-30k for him if it means getting him in this week and not having to play two backline reserves on the field. Thanks for the thought anyway :)

Re: Round 17 Trades

Looking at trading Bastinac for some cash. I have 7 trades left, and holes in both forward and backlines which need filling, but not a lot of cash in the kitty.

My midfield is pretty decent-
Gablett, Dal, Montagna, Pendles, Judd, Cooney, with Kayler-T (yes, I was suckered in) and Bastinac on the bench.
Wouldn't mind Swan in there as well- perhaps in a week or two if I can manage it.

I was thinking rather than just go for one of the first-gamer rookies and pray, I would bring in Jarryd Blair- he's already had a decent price rise, but it will still make me $180K, and he looks like a handy emergency replacement. Pies fans- do you think he's likely to hold his place for for a few weeks at least?
Any other suggestions?

Re: Round 17 Trades

B: Hodge, Goddard, Gilbert, Enright, Goodwin, Shaw, Waters (Davis, Webberley)

5 trades, $70,100. More interested in overall than league, but have a pretty big match in my main league this week!

I think I'll have to go Davis > Smith to save the donut first and foremost.

I'll then have $230,600 in the bank. Should I use it now or wait for Riewoldt?

B: Hodge, Goddard, Gilbert, Enright, Goodwin, Shaw, Waters (Davis, Webberley)
C: Ablett, Montagna, Dal Santo, Boyd, Judd, Ball (Stevenson, Shuey)
R: Sandilands, Cox (West, Lobbe)
F: Pavlich, O'Keefe, Goodes, Podsiadly, Hall, Ballantyne, Brown (Gumbleton, Watts)

Waters > any defender?
Ball > Chapman?
Wait for Ballantyne > Riewoldt?

Or are the injuries to Shaw and Goodwin significant enough to be worried about them?

Cheers.

Re: Round 17 Trades

Hi, I currently have 4 trades and $700

here's my team:

B: Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Gilbee, Gilbert, Enright and Waters
C: Ablett Montagna, Selwood, Pendlez, Bartel and Mitchell
R: Sandi and Cox
F: Pavlich, HArvey, O'keefe, Brown, Podsiadly, Hall and Giansiracusa.

I thinking of downgrading webberley (who I have on my bench) and upgrading Waters or Hall to a better defender or Didak. I only have 4 trades I know. I'm not too sure what to do. :S

Re: Round 17 Trades

Team is
Goddard, Hodge, Malceski, Fisher, Gilbee, Enright, Waters (Webbs, Strijk)
Ablett, Boyd, Watson, Murphy, Cooney, Hayes (Armstrong, Gysberts)
Sandilands, Cox (Warnock, Lobbe)
Chapman, Pavlich, Didak, Brown, O'keefe, Franklin, Hall (Hitchcock, Davis)

Is it worth trading Waters for Newman this week, and hope Riewoldt drops enough so Hall>Roo is a straight swap?
Waters>Newman would leave me with about 13k and two trades left. Hmmm.

Re: Round 17 Trades

have 5 trades left.

I have C.Cornes in my backline along with davis, looks like i will have to keep waters in my team.

should i trade Cornes out? (would only have 440k to spend)

only other trade i would do is sheuy to mcneil to free up cash and have mpp, which then i would have over 500k to spend on upgrading cornes.

Only Crichton, Harwood and Hardingham made the final cut.

TDL didn't nor did Reid.

Moore is finally back, which kinda annoys me since I had him round 1, had to trade him out after he got injured, and now he's finally back in round 17 :p He might be useful if you need a MPP though.

Not that I would know, but with their depth I reckon he's shaky. If it's purely about cash I would go one of the other mid rookies that's debuting this week.

Re: Round 17 Trades

Just went Nason > Smith (should've done it before he got concussed and I would've made more money, but ah well, that's just luck).
Gives me 230k and 5 in the bank
D: Goddard Hodge Enright Lake Malceski Scotland Hunt Webberley Smith
M: Ablett Selwood Swan NDS Montagna Simpson Rohan JKT
F: Chapman Franklin ROK Brown Podsiadly Rockliff Fyfe Murphy Playfair

Obviously the only possible upgrades are one more premium back and the forwards. Maybe Fyfe or Murphy, I'm a bit undecided on who though because if I go Goodes it has to be this week, if it's Pav I can wait one more week, ditto on Riewoldt. I'd like to do something with F9 too but I suppose there's no value in that and I better just consider it dead.

Suggestions?

Re: Round 17 Trades

Just asking opinions again before I do my trade

Mitchell or Goodes??

Gut says Goodes. Head says Sammy.

Stats say (against Round 22 opponents):

Goodes - averaging 100 verses Brisbane since start of 2008
Mitchell - averaging 117 verses Collingwood since start of 2008

Mitchell for me :thumbsu:

Gives me 230k and 5 in the bank
D: Goddard Hodge Enright Lake Malceski Scotland Hunt (Webberley Smith)
M: Ablett Selwood Swan NDS Montagna Simpson (Rohan JKT)
F: Chapman Franklin ROK Brown Podsiadly Rockliff Fyfe (Murphy Playfair)

With five trades left, I'd be looking at going:

This week: Hunt > Lake/Duffield/Gilbert; and
Next week: Fyfe > Roo/Pav (*if you've got enough cash)

Leaves you with three trades for LTI or when players get rested come round 20 for SC finals.

I'm looking to bring in Goodes for one of the following three.

Who shall it be, Sylvia, Gray or Rockliff?

Gray.

I think on reflection I agree.

I've changed my tune a little, and am now looking at Moore from Port as a defence bench player with MPP- Phil Davis coverage for this week at least. Save the trade until the next week or two.

My next dilemma is Silvagni or Webberly out for him? (I realise Silvagni is hurt, but it doesn't look too bad)
