Re: Round 18 Trades

No Riewoldt for me. Went Goodes as my last forward upgrade instead.

This is the earliest trading thread I have ever seen. Even I don't even think about getting this trigger trade happy so early. LOL! :D

Don't worry, soon you will have no trades left and then you won't have to worry about that :D:p

Re: Round 18 Trades

Whoa, this is open early.

I'm going Playfair to Roo... Roo showed he's just getting back into it now and I'm expecting his scores to slowly get better the next few weeks. No point treading around the fact Roo's a champ at a great price and has the potential for some massive scores... I don't care if every man and his dog picks him up too, he's the best option so why wouldn't you pick him up 2bh.

Wow, you have enough cash to go your F9 Henry up to Roo?
Good on you!

Haven't got enough cash to get rid of Henry that way unfortunately, but Fyfe (F8) > Roo is looking good for me.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Went Didak last week instaed of Roo in 2 but i must admit he looked pretty damn good. Not quite there but almost with a couple of marks he'd normally hold in the past so come (sc) finals time i don't doubt he'll be tearing it up.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Any idea on who I should trade out to get Roo?
this is my forward line; Pav, ROk, Gia, Rioli, Pods, Buddy, Brown (gumby, playfair)
Cant trade out gumby or Playfair without using two trades so i'll stay away
So heres how ive set this out
Player X, avg last 3 games*, avg last 5 games*, run home(last score against opponent), reason for trading
*Avg does not include round 17 scores
Ryan O'Keefe - 104.8, 98.6, Geel(69), Haw(50), Freo(90), WB(30), Bris(96)- After looking at those scores and run home he looks like a very possible trade. Hes looking old due to groin problems and is very inconsistant.

Daniel Giansiracusa - 70.33, 94.80, NM(86), Adel(134), Geel(-), Syd(60), Ess(60)- Again like ROK he has been extremly inconsistant and only seems to score weel when in the mid. Only thing saving him may be hes a unique and he might help during finals

James Podsiadly- 86.33, 82.60, Syd(156), Coll(83), WB(-), Carl(68), WCE(76)- Has been in very bad form of late and the only reason his avg look okay is a 154 against norf at SS. fair run home but only one game left SS. And as he is very popular i might be able to move up the rankings if he continue scoring this way and with the rumour cats players will be rested, so it might be time to go.

Jonathan Brown- Melb(39), WCE(130), Adel(38), Ess(-), Syd(143)- Didnt included his past game stats due to him being out for the last few weeks. Suffered with inj for most of the year. His past few games have been alright for him not doing much. Probley the safest of the lot.

So if anyone could give me any input that would be great

You could, as crazy as this sounds...

save your two trades incase you need them?

Personally, I think Gia's a bit of a front runner and does well when his team does well so its up to you as to whether you think the dogs will keep winning.

Remember, Roo might get rested as well before finals. Sure, we need to get him fit but if there's any hitch at all in regards to his fitness he will definitely get rested. I reckon he'll get a week to freshen up before finals anyway, considering St Kilda's easy draw into the finals.

I'd trade Gia myself with Pods in a very close second, only because Pods is better. However, Gia will play every game.

Re: Round 18 Trades

What do you experts think of these?

Out: ROK, PODS

In: Goodes, Roo

To sideways?

Sitting in top 2 in all 3 leagues. This will leave me with 3 trades and >

Backs: Goddard, Hodge, Gilbee, Enright, Malceski, Shaw (Silvagni, Webbs)

Mids: Selwood, Ablett, Montagna, Cross, Gibbs, Lids (Stevenson, Shuey)

Rucks: Sandilands, Jolly (Warnock, Trengrove)

Fwds: Pav, Roo, Buddy, Goodes, Gia, Brown, Murphy/Rockliff, Playfair.

Re: Round 18 Trades

It's tempting PP, but IMO it's better to just kick back and enjoy the ride while you have no real need to trade and wait for finals. Rest assured that you'll be sitting pretty when someone gets injured or rested in the coming weeks and you have all kinds of options to gain the extra edge on your opponent. Also, it's not like ROK and PODS are doing REALLY badly atm, despite some poor scores recently, I think ROK especially will bounce back strongly.

PODS is the only one certain to miss at least one game from that lot which makes him the obvious choice.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Thinking of trading cousins Jack -> Nick this week, for two reasons.

1) Fair chance they will score pretty similar over the remaining games, and I make 80K to help fund one of my final two upgrades.

2) So I can watch Jack play without freaking out about how many SC points he is scoring. lol

Could go either way. Nick may start to score some of those 150+ scores just in time for SC finals :thumbsu: or he could go and re-injure himself :(

A lot of people must be pondering, whether to Roo or not to Roo?

Re: Round 18 Trades

I'll be right thanks. :D:thumbsu:

Have a completed team now and depth on all benches. :thumbsu:

Need a bit of luck from here on end but that's what its all about. ;)

Having said that, I reckon Pods is fairly certain to kill WCE in the GF.

Anyway personally, if I were most of you, I'd hold, because if you wait and do your trades only when someone gets rested, you can better anticipate where you need to trade based on which players your opponent has being rested etc.

Personally I'm doing Fyfe > Riewoldt this week because I want a reliable F8, but beyond that I won't be trading until the day anyone gets rested etc.

Re: Round 18 Trades

Highly tempted to go:

Howlett --> McNeil
Playfair --> Reiwoldt

I'll have better coverage than before (Higgins or ROK beats Howlett most weeks) and get Reiwoldt in, but it'll drop me to one trade.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you Russea, but I have hall. Browny doesn't look anywhere near right...That being said he is a champion and I guess he could work his way back into form. I would like to trade Gia because of his inconsistency, but Pods is starting to look tired and will probably be rested. So its between brown and pods I think.

Re: Round 18 Trades

i'm in an interesting situation...and i think i need your help despite my ranking being the highest that it has ever been

ranked 360 overall with three trades left and 104k in the kitty

team: hodge, goddard, enright, h shaw, goodwin, waite, malceski, em.. webberley and silvagni

ablett, selwood, judd, dal santo, mitchell, swan, em.. martin, gysberts

sandilands, ryder, trengove, warnock

giansiracusa, pav, o'keefe, hall, pods, harvey, goodes, em..fyfe, davis

if, goodwin's injury is done for the season and his career, a wonderful career that it has been, still wanting riewoldt in the team,

i'm thinking of using two trades, leaving me with one..

goodwin > gilbert or gilbee
fyfe, riewoldt

smart thing to do, wrong thing to do,

i need to know what to do, please help me on this one, thankyou
