Knew the price of Ghana would rise as Brazil got beat and everybody is chasing.

I've personally had a small bet on Ghana.

You have to be a MUG to go anywhere near Uruguay at 1.95........Yes out of the two u have to facny Uruguay but at that price? Don't be foolish. You already saw earlier today favourites don't always win.

Easy money BABY :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:
Very nicely done, Ron, I thought of you when I saw the end result. I must sheepishly admit that I went to bed at half time!

My only bet was on Uruguay to qualify, so I got away with it... barely.

Looks as though the all seeing, all knowing Paul the 'Oracle' Octopus has predicted Germany to trump Argentina tonight - which would be a small upset of sorts.

He's tipped 4 from 4 up until now, but this match will put his powers to the true test.

Might put a sneaky $5 on Germany just for a laugh, despite thinking that Argentina will win. :D

I'm also going to back Spain, but they are very short in most of the markets so they are offering very little value.

Germany with an early goal. I put a little on them, because Paul is some sort of God trapped in an Octopus and i know he'll be right.

Also i need Germany to win, i had a bet with a mate at work that the Dutch would beat Germany 2-0 in the final, (that was yesterday before the Dutch won) and he gave me 200-1. So i put $20 on it.

to score market tonight

Oscar Cardozo @ 7.0.

Free kick specialist and should be on pens too. Hasn't quite replicated his Benfica form for his country but has been shown to perform in big games for his club.

He's tall and powerful and will be a threat in the air. There's a few mistakes in that Spanish defence and I think he's the man to capitalise.

unlucky mate :(

very harsh

Have $250 on Uruguay to Qualify / Spain Qualify / Sydney +24.5 @ $2.23

First 2 legs are done & dusted (with a lot of luck :D)

Fairly confident on the Swans but who knows...I've been screwed over before (as have most of you probably), so not sure on whether to hedge it.

Thoughts?

hehe tigers might just getup

I have a $50 freebet which I have to use before midnight central time tonight. The odds have to be $3 or greater, so I'm thinking of taking either Germany or Netherlands to win the World Cup. Germany is $3 and the Netherlands $3.10, with Spain too short at $2.78.

Netherlands should advance past Uruguay, whereas Spain or Germany (minus Muller) is a lottery in itself.

Advice?

Any other > $3 bets worth going for?

Does it have to be used in a single bet or can you multi it?

I'd go for either Netherlands or Germany. I'm not entirely sure why Spain are favourites against Germany, Germany have shown a lot more going forward while Spain have struggled, kicking 5 goals in the last 5 games. Predicting a Netherlands/Germany final and my gut is telling me that Germany has enough to win it. If you can, wait to see what Paul the Octopus says :p

Edit: just saw that the next games are in a few days, don't think you'll be able to catch Paul's predictions before your bet runs out.

Swans blew a massive lead by ah well, still got it :):thumbsu:

I *think* I can multi it, but I'm trying to find out for sure. It would be good to have an optimum strategy in either case :).

I worked out the terms and conditions; they're insane.

I can multi, but I can't select the "outright" winner of a tournament, which rules out backing the Netherlands or Germany to win the World Cup. :(

What I've gone for is;
1 - Netherlands/Draw at end of regulation time against Uruguay.
2 - Rafael Nadal to beat Berdych tonight (although you'd think that would make him the outright winner of Wimbledon )
3 - Boston Red Sox to win at home today
4 - New York Yankees to win at home today

All of this added up to $3.06. Unfortunately I know absolutely nothing about baseball!

Well I was going well until the Bosox decided to get nearly shut out at home by the Orioles whose record going in was something like 21-49. Absolutely pathetic. They had 3 hits for the entire game... I don't know how anyone can be entertained by hitting the ball three times in 3.5 hours. Imagine if that was a cricket match!

Meanwhile, back to the World Cup, sorry for the derailment.

Really can't understand why Spain are favourites for this upcoming match. Sure, they have might have a better team on paper than Germany but they aren't playing well at all. They have probably been lucky to make it this far, hardly manged to get past Paraguay. Maybe the bookies think Spain will just click sooner rather than later but I think I might be loading up on Germany here. Form team on the comp, dismantled Argentina with ease and are playing great football. I guess the only question mark is how big of a loss is Muller to their squad?

As for Uruguay vs Netherlands. Can't see Uruguay scoring without Suarez on top of their weak midfield. The Dutch will dominate possession and create a lot of chances.
