Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score - 2228

Overall ranking - 17,999th

Team:
Backs - Goddard, Goodwin, Enright, Hodge, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Nason)
Mids - Ablett, Dal Santo, Selwood, Trengove, Martin, Barlow
(Banner, Shuey)
Rucks - Clark, Hille (Warnock, McNamara)
Fwds. - Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Gray, Hall, Dangerfield, Ballantyne (Hitchcock, Roberts)

Heroes - Goddard, Malceski, Hodge, Selwood, Barlow, Riewoldt & O'Keefe , Pav and my boy Dangerfield ended up going alright with 93

Villains - Dal Santo, Hille , Clark , Hall, Gray for not playing which caused me to cop Roberts whopping 15!

League Status - 3rd, 1st and 2nd

Injury concerns - Gray? Though hopefully he's back this week

Trades - None. Seriously how can people possibly want to trade after 1 game?!?

Vent: Dal Santo! you better come back with a big return this week!

Kudos: All bench players (except for Roberts) did well and should hold their spots.

Thoughts- I thought I was going alright and started pretty well until I realised everyone else was doing much better! But still happy with the start.. My premiums in Dal Santo, Goodwin and Clarke should improve this week (fingers crossed) and hopefully Gray plays and Gaz steps it up another cheeky 10 points so plenty of potential for higher scores!

Couple of other shout outs:
- Pav, thank god you scored over 100. Almost fainted when I saw J.Brown's score after picking Pav instead
- Hille, I am not quite sure how you didn't get suspended but no complaints here!!
- Barlow, I think I speak from everyone when I say 'i love you'.. My housemate actually went to school with Mick and was speaking to him on Friday and he said he was nervous and was just hoping to get A kick... how bout a lazy 33?
- Patty Danger, love your work mate. My first player picked after Gaz and was pretty nervy after Medhurst and Ziebell both tonned up. But a solid 93 put a smile on my face.. Keep it up soldier

Bring on round 2 already!
Go cats

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score: 2542

Overall Ranking: 11th

Team:
Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Hooker, Kennelly, Malceski, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)
Swan, Dal Santo, Selwood, Stanton, Barlow, Martin (Bastinac, Howlett)
Sandilands, Hille (Warnock, Prato)
Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Higgins, Hall, Murphy, Medhurst, Ballantyne (Gumbleton, Roberts)

Heroes: Goddard, Hodge, Enright, Malceski, Swan, Selwood, Stanton, Barlow, Sandilands, Riewoldt, O'Keefe, Higgins, Murphy, Medhurst

Villains: Hille, Hall, Dal Santo

League Status: 1st, 1st and 1st

Injury Concerns: Kennelly?

Trades: None yet. May need to fix up Gumby/Roberts next round.

Vent: Missed out on name in Herald Sun by 8 points!

Kudos: Stanton. Carried on with his pre-season form against Geelong after being written off by everyone cos he only played Richmond and Melbourne in the pre-season.

Thoughts: Very happy that Kennelly and Malceski are the rebounders for Sydney, with Shaw on the wing and Mattner playing off the bench. Wasn't confident in selecting Medhurst - was more a case of 'best available player at price', and held his own against Ziebell and Dangerfield.

Next Week: Swan v Melbourne, Hall/Higgins/Murphy v Richmond, Riewoldt/Goddard/Dal Santo v NorthMelb. Plenty to be excited about. Hope that Stanton and Barlow go head-to-head and rack up 35+ touches each.

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score - 2233

Overall ranking -
17,089

Team:
B: Drummond, Enright, Hodge, Waite, Kennelly, Malceski, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)
M: Ablett, NDS, Selwood, Pendles, Martin, Barlow (Bastinac, Trengrove)
R: Clark, Hille (Warnock, Grimey)
F: Roo, Pav, Buddy, Hall, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Hitchcock (Hitchcock, Dumby)

Heroes -
Malceski, Hodge,Roo, Barlow, Ablett, Selwood,

Villains -
Clark, Hille, NDS, Dumbleton, Hall

League Status -
5th, 3rd and 3rd

Injury concerns -
Hopefully Clark's over the flu and is back to full strength against Carlton and Malceski/Kennelly recover from their knocks.

Trades -
Don't be silly :p.

Vent:
How could Big Bad Barry start so well, then only finish with 60!

Kudos:
Barlow. Genius. Really happy with my bench and backline, Only change I'd make would be Kennelly > O'Brien, but the Swan still scored 90.

Thoughts-
Similar to FBDonk, I wish I had of followed my gut and picked up HarryO. In the end I wanted 2 of Waite/Kennelly/O'Brien. I chose Waite and Irishman because I like Waite as a keeper moreso than HarryO and Kennelly coz I wanted more cash for upgrades later on. Hope it pays off.

The same could be said for Nicky Dal, he was Super Swan til the last week prior to lock-out, but again, thought I'd be smart and try and save cash. But hey, Riewoldt had two quiet games to start 2009 and look what happened there ;).

I was hoping Hall could be a keeper this year...but that doesn't look to be the case (so far lol). So he might be one of the first upgrade targets. Hopefully with Malceski and Barlow, I could have 15 locks already, which leaves me a good 14 trades for upgrades, maybe one after round 2, and 5 for finals/LTI.

Amazing the amount of high scores so early on...I was stoked with 2233 until I started reading some of the scores on here. I honestly think it'll take an average of 2200 to win the 55k this year.

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score - 2411

Overall ranking - 944

Team: Underdone FC

Backs - Goddard, Shaw, Enright, Hodge, Malceski, Hunt, Kennelly (Silvagni, Waters)
Mids - Ablett, Ball, Cooney, Trengove, Martin, Barlow (Bastinac, Shuey)
Rucks - Sandi, Nicnat (Warnock, Trengrove)
Fwds. - Riewoldt, Gia, Murphy, Medhurst, Chappy, Dangerfield, Hitchcock, (Bumbleton, Buddy Love)

Heroes - Barlow, Malceski

Villains - Fumbleton

League Status - 1st

Injury concerns - Kennelly - tough as nails to walk off after that hit

Trades - handcuffed

Vent: didnt go with my gut that said Banner over Trengrove. Wish I had picked Harry O', my favourite player, I already had Heater though.

Kudos: discounted and cheaper players did very well (Hunt, Malceski, Medhurst, Kennelly, Murphy)

Thoughts- Pretty stoked at this stage. I dont think to many people in the top 1000 had a player like Buddy on the bench like me. Hope to win my league and finish high up over-all for the year.

Hmm every team is 99% the same as mine. Still, I'm glad I didn't pick B.B. Barry and Maguire; two of most popular players. Thats a point of difference I guess.

Hoping Gia and Cooney bouce back after being smashed by my Pies :)

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

I was hoping Hall could be a keeper this year...but that doesn't look to be the case (so far lol). So he might be one of the first upgrade targets.

Barry will come good against Richmond this week. full forwards generally score low when their team gets beaten and i dont think the dogs will get beaten too often this year. i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

It seems like most people have very similar backlines this year. The goddard/enright/hodge combo seems almost constant. and 3 of kennelly/malceski/hunt/ladson/waters is also very common.

midfields seem to be where most of the variation is, in terms of captain, number of starting rookies and variation of premium mids.

there are limited combinations of rucks, so no surprise there are a lot similar (sandi/hille seeming to be the most common).

forward lines are nicely varied too.

looks like it will be coming down to strength of forward line and midfields this season.

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score: 2234

Overall ranking: 16,888

Team: (optional)

Goddard, Enright, R Shaw, S Mcmahon, Hodge, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

Ablett (c), Dal Santo, Mitchell, Power, Martin, Barlow (Bastinac, Duncan)

Clark, Seaby (2 spuds)

Roo, ROK (vc), Schneider, Hall, Medhurst, Ziebell, Hitchcock (Roberts, Gumby)

Heroes: Goddard, Enright, McMahon, Hodge, Ablett, Mitchell, Power, Roo, ROK, Medhurst, Ziebell, BARLOW!

Villains: R Shaw, Dal Santo, Clark, Hall, Schneider, Roberts on field.

League Status: Mid pack BF Div 9.

Injury concerns: None.

Trades: None this week. Will be monitoring Eski like a Hawk and might make a Rhyce to Eski trade next week if Rhyce doesn't repay my faith (I'll come to that in a minute ).

Vent: Where do I start? Had both Heath and Duffield in my original team since my very first draft and traded them out for Goddard and Rhyce respectively the day before lockout. I figured Rhyce would maintain his price better than Duff and Heath so I could pick them up cheaper (so far is proving to be a silly move). Had Stanton since first draft up until last week before lockout who I then traded for Dal Santo (also makes me mad ). Had all of Eski, Harry O, Brown, Pav, Shaw and Cross in my team for LONGGG periods of time... all probably removed in the last week before lock out :D.

Kudos: Barlow. Power and McMahon for being unique and working.

Thoughts: Most of my thoughts over the last week have been vented :D.

Re: The Monday Wrap (Round 1)

Score: 2397

Overall Ranking: 1350

Team:

Goddard, Shaw, Hodge, Kennelly, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Goose, Nason)

Ablett(C), Selwood, Gibbs, Ball, Martin, Barlow (Shuey, Bastanic)

Clark, Nic Nat (Lobbe, Shae)

Riewoldt, Brown, SJ, Higgins, Tippett, Hall, Medhurst (Hitchcock, Roberts,)

Heroes: My final 4 starters in the backline, spent $997500 for a combined average for the round of 97.

Villains: Mitch Clark was sick but still disappointing and Tippet struggled.

League Status: Rank 1 in tooserious50 and Bigfooty Div9 and my league with my mates.

Injury concerns: Kennelly

Trades: Nil

Vent Probably the only thing i got wrong was changing Peterson out for Roberts at the last minute. But very happy overall.

Kudos: Barlow, Roo and Selwood.

Thoughts: Had a very good first round with a few players who can lift. But i doubt i will be close to this score as most of the main guys fired.

The Monday Wrap (Round 2)

This is the Monday Wrap. The place to tell the world how you went in SC on the weekend.

Score - 2142

Overall ranking -
About 26,000th. Pretty horrible start

Heroes -
Roo, Enright, ROK, Goddard, Barlow

Villains -
Many more villians than heroes unfortunately. Tippett, Ball and Clark standing out the most. They seem like bad/costly picks so far.

League Status -
Sitting near the bottom in all leagues. Highest ranking league that im in is 4th. YSCCE is 28th, but about to climb up the ladder.

Injury concerns -
Why did i keep Robbie Gray? durr

Trades -
Considering the trades that everyone else seems to be thinking about on here.

Vent:
Stupid ruckman!

Kudos:
ROK and Roo. Superstars :D

Thoughts-
Its gonna be very tough to climb up the rankings, especially seen as so many teams have similar players. Im still pretty happy with the way i structured my team (which should give me a trading advantage), but im being let down by some early performances. Surely things will improve.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2307

Overall ranking - 2,934

Heroes - Riewoldt, ROK, Brown

Villains - Harvey and a few others

League Status - 5th in BF Div 2 (overall league 3)

Injury concerns - Heard Goodwin had some issues

Trades - Not sure, but I have Hille like most people

Vent: None yet, but not happy with premiums scoring sub-20 scores

Kudos: Newman (good work bouncing back)

Thoughts- Am I going to cop another sub-20 score from a premium in Round 3? When will Ablett run riot and punish me for not having him? Every game he plays I'm waiting for him to explode and score 200....ouch for me

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2433

Overall ranking - 51st

Heroes - Riewoldt, Brown, Dal Santo, Cooney, Gilbee, Barlow, Enright

Villains - Pavlich, Kennelly, Ziebell, Shuey, Hitchcock

League Status - 1st

Injury concerns - None

Trades - None

Vent: Ziebell was dissapointing

Kudos: Brown and Riewoldt

Thoughts- Good to be ranked inside the top 100 best ranking ive ever had. made a pretty solid start with scores of 2453 and 2433. no injury concerns or underperforming guns to worry about

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2509

Overall ranking - 534th

Heroes - Brown, Riewoldt, Cooney, O'Keefe, Barlow, Enright, Newman, Ablett

Villains - Ball, Hall, Warren

League Status - First or second in the lot. SuperCoach Elite 1 is 6th, Geelong Division 1 is 22nd.

Injury concerns - Only Connors. Hope he gets up so others don't get to trade him in later.

Trades - No trades.

Vent - Come on Ball.

Kudos - The heroes above. Ablett playing his worst game in four years and still putting down 128.

Thoughts - Never fell outside the top 1000 last year and hoping to do the same for this year. Will trade very wisely and obey every golden rule.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2295

Overall ranking -
About 3,100

Heroes -
Brown, Roo, ROK, Barlow, NDS, Pendles, Enright

Villains -
Ball, Hall, Clark. Selwood's 95 as captain was costly, coupled with NDS getting 78 last week, I've already lost a good 200 points for captain selections.

League Status -
In one private league, 2nd on points.

Injury concerns -
None until the Goodwin rumour posted above has legs.

Trades -
Am considering either Hall -> Ballantyne and Clark -> Sandi, or Clark -> Seaby and Hall -> whoever looks to score best for me. Ball, at this point, gets one more week to impress me before he faces the chopping block.

Vent:
If Hall can't rack up a decent score against Kel Moore, I think he's in serious trouble. Also, my poor girlfriend got 164 off Roo, and 237 off the rest of her forwards combined. :(, and PLEASE! Can I pick a good captain this week?!

Kudos:
Brown, Roo, ROK. Forward premium picking was spot on.

Thoughts-
Pretty much can't complain at this point - just gotta consider if its worth burning a couple of trades to keep cash flow up while I have the chance.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2154

Overall ranking - About 36,000th.

Heroes - Roo, Enright, NDS, GAJ, Goddard, Boyd, Barlow

Villains - Clark, Harvey, Pav, Hille. Rucks are main concern but think they'll bounce back.

League Status - 2nd on the main one, Top 8 with the other 2.

Injury concerns - Nil.

Trades - Nil. Really happy that I got the bolters in my team in the 1st place (Well at this stage). Barlow, Silvagni, Maguire, Martin, Peterson

Vent: Rucks are a concern but will hold out.

Kudos: My 4 guns. Goddard, NDS, Ablett, Roo Doing what they're supposed to. Want a bit more from GAJ.

Thoughts - Happy with teh team TBH. Pav & Boomer firing or just average would of been a score closer to 2400 which would be awesome for rd 2. So glad I kept Dangerfield over Ziebell but that may change. Hoping this really is teh year for Murphy. Ball, lift your game son. Boyd, you just keep doing it dude. Love your work.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 1993

Overall ranking - 29,114

Heroes - Roo, Goddard, Barlow

Villains - Where to start this week? Medhurst, Hitchcock, Hall, Tippet, Hille, Banner, Ball.

League Status - Near top if not top in all leagues thanks to a big score last week, approx 2400.

Injury concerns - Nil. Only Good news to come out of this round.

Trades - Hille for Seaby? Tippet and Lockyear out for Brown and Dangerfield?

Vent: How can these duds play so well one week then go to total sh!t the next. Does Ablett want to justify his price tag any time soon?

Kudos: Barlow has been amazing so far and looks to be recruit of the season.

Thoughts- What I wouldn't give to be able to make more than 2 trades this round. Just like Essendon the team needs a cull.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2312
Overall ranking - 3442 (Up 6042)

Heroes - Roo, Enright, ROK, Ablett, Barlow, Brown, Drummond, Sandi

Villains - Warren, Ball, Shuey, Pav, Hille

League Status - 7th for SCE 1 (Rank 6 Overall)

Injury concerns - None.

Trades - None.

Vent: Keep picking wrong Mid rookies. Dropped around 75 points from that over 2 weeks.

Kudos: Forward premiums (minus Pav). Brown, Roo and ROK doing what I expected when I forked out the big bucks.

Thoughts- Steady as she goes. Consistent scoring hopefully through the season. Overall position will follow. Also, SCE doing well. How's YSCCE going again ;)

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2070

Overall ranking - About 28,073. Absolute trash

Heroes - Roo, Enright, ROK & Barlow

Villains - Most of the rest

League Status - Bottom 8 in 2 of them 5th in my social

Injury concerns - Goodwin/Tippett

Trades - Need to get rid of Jolly, I want Sandi but that would cost 2 trades, maybe if I got rid of Masten as well

Vent: My 2 ruckmen accounting for 2.5% of my total!!!

Oh and Hurn for getting suspended

Kudos: Roo & ROK saved me big time here!

My backline bench scoring 194 between them.

Thoughts- Got burned this week was hoping to slowly climb the rankings but dropped 12,000 spots. Need to fix the Jolly scenario but he will probably come good next week. Will just stick Hurn on my bench and hope Waters fires again. Expecting Tippett to fire this week against Melbourne anything but considering their form they will probably knock us off.

Looking for a big rebound week this week

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2485

Overall ranking - 290th

Heroes - Whole Team

Villains - Hille, Pav and Hall need to improve (I have faith)

League Status - 1st, 1st and 1st by total points

Injury concerns - NONE touching wood

Trades - NONE...no need bring in Silvagni or Peterson...saving those precious trades!

Vent: n/a

Kudos: Roo JB NDal

Thoughts- NO need to trade....patience, patience, patience

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2350

Overall ranking - Around 900

Heroes - Roo, ROK, Enright, Goddard, Barlow, Murphy, Ablett

Villains - Tippett, Hall and Masten.

League Status - Top of leagues by points.

Injury concerns - None that I know of!

Trades - Considering a sideways swap of Tippett for someone more consistent. He will probably end up averaging 80 anyway... but very frustrating. Only a consideration. Would love to get J Brown in... but would be wasting two trades to do it.

Vent: Masten, play FOUR good quarters!

Kudos: As per heros. ROK... there was a reason you were first selected in my forwards! Peterson, been a great 7th forward - averaging more than Hall and Tippett. Barlow - keep it up son!

Thoughts: I know I have the team to win my leagues. But do I want to make risks to try and get as high up in the overall!?

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2178

Overall ranking -
About 29,000th. Worse than I was hoping for

Heroes -
Roo, ROK, Goddard, Barlow, Malceski

Villains -
Tippett, Ball, Clark and Hall.

League Status -
In a public league. Winning.

Injury concerns -
None to speak of.

Trades -
Dropped Robbie Gray last week for Higgins. In hindsight, not a great trade consider Gumbleton came through.

Vent:
Although the rucks have not come through, I'm most disappointed with Ball. He definitely has had every opportunity to show his worth, but maybe St Kilda were right - he's just average.

Kudos:
ROK, Roo, Ablett and Goddard.

Thoughts-
First time SC player. Just trying to work out how to play this game correctly. Will make plenty of mistakes.

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

score-2169

overall ranking-16 thousand and something

heroes-newman,riewoldt goddard,enright

villains-shaw,swan,medhurst,clark,another jodering donut

league status-dont care

injury concerns-none that im aware of

vent-jodering collingwood players cost me big time and so did another donut

kudos-scoring and ranking pretty well with consecutive donuts

thoughts-maybe just maybe i could have 22 scoring players getting me 2400ish:confused:

Re: The Monday Wrap (round 2)

Score - 2094

Overall ranking -
22,389

Heroes - Riewoldt, Dal Santo, ROK, Goddard, Barlow, Ablett

Villains -
Tippett, Ziebell, Clark, Hall

League Status -
Sitting in the bottom half of 2 leages and about middle in a 3rd.

Injury concerns -
Gray, Goodwin?

Trades -
Looking closely at my rucks and forwards and considering Jono Brown as is everybody that doesn't have him.

Vent:
My 4 lowest scoring forwards were 135/4 aarrggghhh!

Kudos:
The 3 St Kilda guns in NDS, Riewoldt and Goddard

Thoughts-
Still early days but disappointing to be ranked so low. I recovered well last year and that was partly to do with saved trades but the decision now is whether I persist with my starting team or make some changes based on only 2 rounds. It's disappointing that Clark and Tippett have gone so badly and Gray's absence has hurt. What's keeping me positive is my rookies and bench players scoring well. But, then again, so are everybodies!
