This is where it gets stupid with doing the top 50 early in the season, too many changes. Tried to make it look decent but it's fairly hard basing on two weeks of form. The figures after the player name are just the movements eg. U2 = up 2 spots, D23= down 23 spots, N/A= wasn't on the list last week.

Watched BRI v CAR, COL v MEL, SYD v ADE and HAW v GEE. Watched bits of NTH v STK, WCE v POR and ESS v FRE. Didn't see RIC v WBD.

Pendlebury very, very, very stiff. Would seriously consider him over Haselby, given that he was very average first round, while Pendles was serviceable. Would rate Enright higher too, was pretty good first round and close to BOG today for my money.

Also, Mooney an emergency for the round 2 team, but doesn't rate as an Unlucky?

Good work AG as usual.... just one comment I'd probably move Cooney up a bit, imo he was BOG against the Tiges and more than servicable against us. But you didn't see that game you said so that's fair enough.

Heath Shaw should be way off the list after his terrible game.
He was outstanding in the first game so it balances out. This is where it's hard, is someone with a near BOG and poor game more valuable than two ok games.

From reports he was awesome though, so I could bump him up.

I think you need to switch Cooney and Cross's position.

Cooney was bog against Richmond and better than Cross in round 1.

our ching leaderboard for round 1 would agree with this:

Good job mate, always an interesting read.

Agree with the comments regarding Cooney - but don't drop Cross down too much, he's been alright too ;)

A great read as usual AG. I'm willing to bet your end of year top 50 will crap all over Sheehan's.

It sucks that this has to go on the lists board too, I think a lot of people are missing out on a great thread. Should be Stickied to the top of the main board.

I think you've got the top 15-20 just about spot on, which is all one can really ask for at this stage of the season. Beyond that it's splitting hairs, and a list like this is so subjective that people can always argue over two close positions without there being a right and wrong answer.

As has been said above, definitely one of the best threads on the site and one of the few which made me sign up and want to post last year. The lists and football statistics forums seem to have some of the most well informed and knowledgeable posters on the site. This thread should stay here and shouldn't be subjected to the main board where you'd have hundreds of posters blindly arguing for their own team's players.

Top work. :thumbsu:

Not to be fussy but two rounds into the season this is how the Carlton board has rated our players:

Kreuzer, Scotland both on 6 votes. Carrazzo on 5 (BOG in round 1), Murphy, Betts 4, Russell, Brock 2, Setanta 1.

Taking into account consistency over both rounds, I reckon you've got it pretty much right, with the exception of Scotland who's been brilliant in both games.

Really well done AG, looks professional! Agree with most of your selections :p

Damn, I have to track this topic - you did a great job last year.

I agree that Riewoldt and Brown are both top 2, but I think Goddard deserves the third spot there. But hey, I trust your judgement. Up 25 spots for one game, well damn I think it's worth it.

Hayes has been quiet coming off injury and Fisher is still out - they'll climb up once they're playing up to their elite of the elite status. Hopefully you'll see and appreciate the efforts of Gram, Milne, Jones, Blake and Armitage as the year goes on. Especially Gram - he's in career best form after a few jumpy seasons.

Barlow has had a belter - given that he's with Fremantle who knows how consistent he'll be but I'm not opposed to his high ranking at this point.

Only watched SYD v RIC and COL v STK in full. Flicked between the Sunday games and watched a bit of POR v BRI. So there might be a few obvious mistakes this week. Wasn't sure what to do with guys like Riewoldt and Brennan.

Murphy was ok apparently. Kreuzer fell a lot of places this week but he has a good first 2 rounds.
8 Geelong players but who doesn't deserve to be their? Byrnes, Selwood and Ling maybe questionable. The others aren't.
I'm happy to change it based on what others think.

I went with Fletcher for the bench because he seemed to be the common choice for BOG from the Essendon board.

Just come across this thread. Fantastic work. I will have to check it every week now.

What are the odds of a Richmond player making it to top 50 by the end of the season. Could suggest it to Centrebet but I reckon they would not be game to take 500-1

Great seeing Gilbert in there. Out and out the premier superstar backman of the competition now.

What's your stance on players who miss a lot of the season through injury? If Riewoldt comes back later and plays the second half of the season at elite status would he get a place on the list?

Sorry about Barlow, everyone. I traded him into my Dream Team this week, that's why he had a quiet one. My bad.
