Sidebottom shouldn't be in from us, has had 3 serviceable games and one very good one.

Thomas, O'Brien and Swan have been very good for 3-4 weeks.
Sidebottom is lucky but I can't think of anyone else who is defintely better them him. I like him as a player so that's the only reason he is ahead of others.
Swan has been ok, similar to Mitchell. Both have been solid but down on their best form.

Huzzah for Jude Bolton getting some appropriate recognition for one of the few times in his outstanding career.
It was almost the best year of his career last year and now he is continuing that form.

AG, your top 5 is missing one big name!

How many more of those performances will he need in your eyes to make up for missing the first three rounds and force himself a) onto the list; and b) into the Top 5 or 10?

At least 3 more rounds of dominance until he is considered. He has given everyone a decent head start to the year.

How close would you have Ricky Petterd AG? IMO he has had two very good games, one good and one average.
He should be in the unluckies. Melbourne have had some good players this year. Frawley and Petterd would be close. Moloney has been ok as well.

Shannon Byrnes should be in the unlucky section as well. I need to actually look at the names I have in there before I post it.

I might have read it wrong, but did you miss Colin Sylvia in Round 4 or am I seeing things?

2010 AFL Stastical Rankings

Ranked 4th in Inside 50s per game

Will make the AA team this season, without question.

I know you Melbourne guys are stoked about your team improving and sick of following a poor team but just settle it down a little, you'll cop a lot of shit if you keep talking your guys up like this and claiming that 5 rounds in your guys are dead certs for the AA Team.

BTW, i'm a big fan of Melbourne. They have been my 2nd side since the start of last year cause there was nothing better than seeing the joy of Melbourne fans and players when they won. But this year they are really on the improve. Somehow manage to trade Roughead into that team and get Watts up and going at CHF and this is one ****ing exciting team.

Even though he's missed 3 games, surely Judd has to break into the top 50? Will be very surprised if he's not on 5 or 6 Brownlow votes, which should have him top 10 at this stage of the season.
Not yet. I still prefer consistency over the season rather than the standout performances. If he has another BOG next week then maybe I'll have to put him in. 2 out of 5 games probably isn't enough to be considered top 50 just yet.

I'm struggling with Carlton and Collingwood players for this week. Kreuzer will probably fall out after today. Swan had another non influential performance. Simpson, Scotland and Murphy would be my top 3 for Carlton but picking the next best is hard so they might only have 3 players inside the top 50 this week. They have been very even this season.

FWIW our best (imo) this week were Beams, Wellingham, Didak, Cloke, Pendlebury, Thomas.

Similar to Carlton. I think you have a clear top 3 so far this season in O'Brien, Thomas and Wellingham but after that it's very even.

Yeah, Heath Shaw not far behind that and aside from round 2, Didak hasn't done a whole lot wrong.
Swan hasn't been that influential but hasn't really had a bad game as such - still averaging over 27 touches a game.

Simpson and Scotland are clearly top 2. I'd probably have Russell third ahead of Murphy. Will poll for the 3rd time in 5 weeks this weekend in the Carlton Board POTY (looking like it'll be 3 of 5 votes). Having a very good season and smashed Johnson.

Watched all the games apart from NTH v HAW and STK v PTA. I put the other key forwards in this week. Guys like Hall might not be the 5th best player for the Dogs this year (he'd be close) but he's the 3rd best power forward, so I'll put him for this week. Harbrow should probably be picked ahead of him though. Every week the last 10 spots are the hardest.

Only thing I can fault in the Team of the Week is that Jade Rawlings doesn't play anymore. ;)

Good analysis.
