2011 crowds

I wish if there is one thing that would change in this thread is the tendancy for everyone to blame the opposition for a low crowd simply because they are interstate.

It's not up to Port Adelaide fans to attend a game in Sydney, for example. Or Adelaide fans to attend a game in Melbourne.

Besides, I think the ladder position of the opposition team is more of a factor.

No way was there 64,537 on Friday night, mark it around 55k mark imo.
It was easily 65k, in comparison to last years ess v haw game which got 55k the ground was alot more full on fri night at the top deck of the ponsford and olympic stand.

All Hawthorn games look like poor crowds because of the bottom deck of the southern stand being half empty every week because its allocated to there members.

Surprisingly good crowd today between NM v St K to get 30k for twilight IMO.

Outdrew the big Friday night timeslot game which was between 2 clubs in the exact same predicament with similar sized supporter bases.

bizzare to say it, given what a great round it was for attendances.. but just about every game was below expactations! (Coll Vs Haw somewhat expected, but apparrently it too could have been higher bar for some problems with GA/Seating).

We could have easily added 30k to that round... amazing isnt it?

Agreed, could have added around 30k to that figure, looking at WA crowds, in particular Freo's, what the chance of getting a roof on this new stadium in Perth.

If we are going to build a 60,000 seat stadium, then going on a wet day, will knock around 20% =3o% off the crowd.

Give us a roof please.

Essendon v Richmond was very disappointing given the Bombers were coming off a big win, Tigers won the earlier meeting between the teams and it was a fine night

Given the shit we saw the week before I was surprised than any Tiger fans turned out. Was 80% Essendon.. Had Richmond not disgraced themselves the week earlier would have been pushing 65,000-70,000.
