Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

Both struggle with the hard tag when applied, which is really frustrating in DT. I have Sammy in my side and he got off to a flyer in the first few rounds but has stagnated since due to hard tags.

The only reason Hodge was a must-have premo in the past was because he was available as a 'back', this year it is different as there are many other better mid options. If you don't have the likes of Boyd, Pendlebury & Selwood in your side, I'd be aiming at getting them in instead.

For what it's worth, I reckon they'll both average between 100-105 by years end so it's all up to personal preference really.

Thanks for that. Yer Im aware Hodgey's back eligibility was his best asset (like Gibbs this year) and quite wary of both their weaknesses in regards to a tag.. surprised that Mitchell has been getting a tag, would have thought he'd be at least 2nd in line.
Guess Burgoyne not really firing this year took him off the top list to tag.
Already have Boyd, Jelwood and planning to bring in Pendles Rnd14 so tossing up between these two Hawks boys.

Will prob stress over this till lockout!

Where is Issac Smith? Is he back playing at Box Hill?

Thought he would come straight back in, but not even being named on extended bench last couple of weeks.

Hey Hawk fans,

Guerra has obviously had a role change, early in the season he was going up forward and putting defensive roles on blokes. In the last 3 weeks it is obvious that Clarkson likes the ball in his hands, and rightly so his disposal was magnificant against the dogs. Do you see Guerra, especially with your short-kick style approach, still getting a lot of the ball and being a specialist kicker down there?

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

A few questions, if you please :) (Dream Team)

1) How is Bailey looking in your best 22? I think he's edged hale out, and renouf will relieve roughy of his ruck duties?

2) Looking for a mid upgrade around 400k, how do you rate Hodge and Shiels? I know Hodgey suffers in a hard tag, but he's looking to hit form. Also Shiels just looks sueprb, but there are probably better options...

Thanks!

Info on Shiels please :)

Has he had a role change/how safe is he/what has cotributed to his last 3 huge scores/can he keep this up?

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

No role change - just a young player getting more and more comfortable playing top level football. Very hard worker who runs to space well, and gets a ton of tackles. Ideal DT game

How's Hodgey's fitness looking fellas? Can someone remind what injury he's trying to get over? Is it a foot? Or groin? My memory is shot

Given Hodge's output I'd say his fitness is looking good, he seems to be in high spirits so I guess he is back to his best.

The injury he is trying to/is over was an achilles, similar to the injury Brad Johnson had last year.

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

Thanks mate, do you like him for sc @ $477k? That's as cheap as you'll find for a potential 110+ ppg player

Obviously he is a player that has SC written all over him, you could do a lot worse.
And also do you see him as a type of player you'd rest playing GC in rd 24?
Obviously there could be some risk at that happening although its hard to speculate without being the coach. I imagine if Hawthorn were to do it then Geelong/Collingwood/Carlton (likely others to make the top four) may very well do the same thing if they have the top 4 spot sewn up. When I make my decisions about picking players I don't factor in likelihood to be rested later on because its clairvoyancy and its to hard to predict.

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

Can anyone help with this? Thanks.

Bailey will get plenty of games this season provided he remains injury free (fingers crossed). The Hawks have persisted with him for this long, they'd be crazy not to keep playing him especially with his form being quite good. To this day, I still don't know why we picked up Hale. Maybe as a back-up but I thought Skipper did more than enough last season to stay in the side. As for Renouf, he was doing quite well before getting injured but if Bailey keeps on improving and Roughie keeps on dominating then I think he will struggle to get back in the side. Expect Bailey to get a rest at some stage but I think he will get every opportunity this year to be our No. 1. Here's hoping, the kid needs some luck going his way.

Thanks for that. I ended up going with Vardy coz of the Hale factor. I was hoping for a different response, but nevermind!

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

Well iguess the big question will be who to replace Mundy?

Got Ablett, Pendles, Boyd, Judd, Selwood.

Could wait a week a grab Swan.

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

What's happening with Isaac Smith? Joel Selwoods suspension has me eyeing off a downgrade/upgrade trade. Hoping he gets named this week!
General feeling is that he will be straight in this week for Young who has done a hammy. Smith played VFL on the weekend, was one of our best and should come in

Re: Dreamteam Supercoach Questions - Post here

Could someone explain the ruck situation now? Is it now Hale/Bailey 50/50 or Hale first in line, Bailey second. Not sure how long Renouf will be out but is it fair to say that Hale is more likely to hold his spot?

It looks like both Hale and Bailey are likely for this week but also looks like they might come in underdone/prematurely?

Cheers
