I thought that this thread may be an appropriate place to put the new sub rule confirmation.

CLUBS will not have to wait for a break in play or an injury to occur before activating the new interchange rule when it is introduced in the 2011 home and away season.

Considering the sub does not have to be named until 90 minutes before each game starts, does anyone think this will result in only a partial lock out on A friday night?
Will you be able be able to change your starting team before each game to include the sub if required?

I may be wrong but I think it's safe to say no one has any idea of his role until we see him in the nab cup.

Bateman is at a very tempting price... He's in my first draft side but I realise he hasn't really ever re-captured his 2008 form and consistency. Will he turn it around in 2011? Also got Whitecross, I thought he was a shoo in this year but apparently not?

I have Pup and Cyril, and i'm planning on upgrading to Buddy. I can't fit I Smith into my team because of the round 6 byes, i would have to cover Chappy, Cyril, Smith and Mzungu. Btw, i'm focusing more on overall.

Any chance of Hallahan getting some games? I would have thought no condisering he's an in and under which you guys seem have enough of.....

Bateman has been at the front of the pack for most of the preseason. Seems to have gotten over his concern from last year.
Should be a solid performer.

Hey guys, just wondering what the take is on a couple of the youngsters.

Puopolo and I. Smith

How have their pre seasons been going? Being mature age they are probably more of a chance to get immediate games, Barlow style, however its a bloody hard team to get into

i personally recon just get hodge and make him el capitain week in week out, i dont care bout the bye. If hodge aint captain you dont deserve to win

Keep an eye on them through the NAB cup. I have them both locked into my bench. It is expected I. Smith will get early games onthe wing and would be a great SC prospect if so. If pup doesnt get early games great downgrade target after rnd 10, but i think once he is in he will be hard to get out.

I've read that Shaun Burgoyne is currently injured. I was wondering if anyone knows what he has injured, how bad it is and how well he has been training this pre-season?

And what do you guys expect from his output this season? Particularly in SC, do you expect him to be a consistent 100+ scorer?

I have a question regarding rucks and supercoach (potentially DT as well)

So usually you have two key rucks and you use one or both of the ruck subs as cash cows if possible...

However I am worried with the bye that I will need at least 3, if not 4 competitive ruckmen (not all top scorers) due to the fact that if one of my two main rucks is on a bye (or god forbid both) then I will get a zero from my ruck division,

What are your thoughts on this?

Also interested in how Sewell is tracking definitely on the radar for me. I am a bit concerned that with you guys having such a great midfield that he might fall not get the same amount of possessions as in '09 etc. is he still your no.1 inside mid?

MPP is the answer. Having someone like J Tippett on your ruck bench or K Tippett as your 2nd ruck and Drew Petrie in your forwards along with a good cheap ruck (Max Bailey, Robbie Campbell) for the bench should help avoid doughnuts.

Thing to watch hear is Crows and Freo have a bye the same week so if you have those 2 you will need cover. It is a non league week so will only affect if you are going for overall.

Sewell is having a great pre season and should have a big year. Regarding Burgers injury, i think it's a nothing story, he just wont be playing in the all star game, i don't think there is actually anything wrong with him but i don't have much info on the matter.

Is Hale likely to get a game, or was he just picked up for backup?

Neither of them are great scorers and aren't our most durable players, miss quite a few games each year with niggling injuries.

If i had to pick one i would go with Youngy due to the fact he takes a few more marks and kicks more goals.

Players you might want to look at for a similar price are: Brock Mclean, Ziebell or Callan Ward to name a few.

I reckon Ward is the pick of those three. Ziebell doesn't seem to be able to stay on the park and McLean is going to marginal at Carlton.
