DLS - window open and new coach to close the deal
OX - going nowhere
OM - watch out, any truth they have Simon Taylor?
UB - another finals campain ending early

SBMT - there abouts
Coll - retirements
OC - consolidate
OS - hanging on
OH - not enough depth
OT - should have gone last year

Great to see the VAFA umps organising a group to provide some practical help to those adversely affected by the floods in Queensland. :thumbsu:
O.T.P giving a hand with some fencing will be a sight to see.

Glad its been noticed.

Done my share of fencing, both on the farm in NZ and also when my daughter rode horses at the local paddock. Was very proud of my nice straight taut fenceline, dismay when it was bulldozed recently for a new housing development.

Won't be going up to Qld due to both work commitments and also recovering from some surgery in Dec. May have to miss the start of the season if I can't start running soon.

So great to hear!

Well done guys!

Good to see we are nurturing our "immediate connection" with the QLD boys!

Why did F.Watts leave for Uni? No full time assistant role offered at the Lions?

From what I can gather, it was an opportunity that he couldnt pass up. Kanis has been at UB for a number years and from what has been banded around the traps, Ferg's chances are greater of getting a senior coaching role at UB than that of Collegians. and it gives him a chance to boss his little brother around too!

But in all honesty we all wish the man with the big ears the best of luck, I think he'll go great guns over there.

Before anyone asks if the Lions are spitful that he has jumped ship. Ferg discussed his moved prior to leaving and he has been given the support by all. It also means our tape strapping budget will decrease not having to worry about using 4 rolls of tape on his ankle everytime he decides to have a jog on the trott.

Is he a playing assistant?

Simon Taylor is training with the Dees. No truth!

No idea Rooster. I havent spoken to him about that. To be honest I doubt he will, but only time will tell if we see him on the transfers list.

Surely Ferg is not much of a loss on the playing front? He added nothing on the park last year in his attempts at playing.

Who else has moved on - Bull(s) gone? Dixon gone; Holst and Fry delisted...

Hey guys, was out scouting some pre season training a couple of weeks ago and noticed that Uni Blues big man Jack Watts was training with St Kilda City down at Elwood. Didn't look to be training with the main group-(jogging laps around the drills) possibly coming back from an injury??? Can anyone from the VAFA confirm why he left the club?

Hates his brother cramping his style!:D

Some talk about Jack Watts possibly signing with St Kilda City. I thought it was all a joke but it is does seem to be gaining some momentum on the SFL board. Can anyone at the Blues substantiate one way of the other?

no he's not training with Melb.
Big tussle emerging amongst a number of clubs for a number fo big name recruits.

Word is there's a fight between at least three clubs for Simon Taylor - any word if anyone can say they have nabbed him?

Old news but Sautner to Collegians - apparently a horrible bloke and there are bets that he waon't last the season playing Ammos (takes things way too seriously).

Hey Mal,
Big call on Taylor. I heard on the grapevine that Uni are pulling out all stops to get him, but he's tight with quite a few OM's guys? I reckon he'll end up there. I know which of the two recruits you named I'd prefer at my club??
Would Taylor be the biggest VAFA signing so far for 2011?

It will be very interesting to see how he goes...

Carl pederson old Carey

Taylor to OM's "Fact" - thats a big call Barrass?
I haven't heard of pederson so I googled him. Is he the same pederson that is the subject of the article in the Herald Sun last year ?(http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...petersons-future/story-e6frf9jf-1225931205733)

Sounds like he'll be a great prospect if you can ever get him to turn up at training or a game!!!

Apparently the boys from Mentone have lost a couple of guns to the bush - my mail says there are at least two off to Cohuna. I have also heard that things are a little flat at Brindisi. It is early days though.
