I thought I'd make this thread to explain about all the pre-season injuries.
I know their is the training report thread and Luke Mitchell's injury thread , but I think we should have one to keep track of all the injuries.
Mods, feel free to delete it if you don't think it's necessary.

Luke Mitchell- Shoulder reconstruction - 12-16 weeks
"Luke suffered a hit to his arm at training on Monday. He had his shoulder pulled back a little bit and it dislocated... then popped back in.

"It will be about a 12-16 week recovery. Realistically, we'll see Luke back playing footy between rounds six to nine."

Nick Duigan - Cartilage removed from knee - 5 to 6 weeks
Defender Nick Duigan, who starred in his debut season with the Blues, has undergone minor surgery to remove some cartilage from his knee.
"It was giving him a bit of pain and a bit of swelling. Now that it has been removed, he'll rest up and be back playing within five to six weeks."

Sam Rowe- AC joint - 3-4 weeks
"Sam fell awkwardly and hurt his AC joint. He just jarred it really, so there's no need for surgery, but it's certainly in a sling at the moment and he'll be back running in a couple of days," McKay said.

"The good thing with this type of injury is that you can keep your fitness up. He'll be back in about three or four weeks, ready to go."

Re: 2012 Injury Tracking Thread

Rowe and Duigan will be available for the NAb cup and round one if no further injuries. No impact on us at all. All the hard running is basically done and rowe can keep fitness up within a couple of days.

Mitchell is the big loss but not sure he would have played early in the season anyway. Just cuts his development for this year down. He needs to get games into him.

Had a feeling the odd injury might come soon when it was mentioned we had everyone on the track the other week. That never happens in AFL footy having a 100% healthy list.

Re: 2012 Injury Tracking Thread

Perhaps the pre-season is starting to take its toll.

Otten at Adelaide, Varcoe and now our guys all in the last week.

Coincidence or fatigue.

Re: 2012 Carlton Injury List Update

Might have to pull the boots on at this rate. You'd think Rowe and Duigan will still make round 1 and build fittness from there on. Not ideal preperation though.

More opportunity for Bower, Russell and Touhy. All capable of playing the positions.

Cheers mods for the thread consolidation.

Re: 2012 Carlton Injury List Update

As has already been mentioned, Rowe and Duigan should still be right come round one. It's Mitchell I'm truly spewing about!

Re: 2012 Carlton Injury List Update

in a way it can be seen as good news, i mean, other people have a chance to show what they can do, and when these 3 are fully fit, they will have to win their spot back, so much depth, loving 2012:thumbsu:

Re: 2012 Injury Tracking Thread

Luke Mitchell
Sam Rowe

Welcome to full forward Shaun Hampson.

Nick Duigan

Welcome back Paul Bower.

Truer words never spoken.

As for Tuohy as another poster mentioned apparently he can kick the leather off the bladder...my old man went to training the other day, reckons hammer was kicking it over the net behind the goals from well outside fifty - consistently. And the Irish kid was mesmerizing - reckons he was just amazing.

Can't wait.

Carlton star Jarrad Waite steps up comeback from injury

JARRAD WAITE stepped up his return to full fitness when he joined in Carlton's two-hour training session at Visy Park this morning.

Matthew Kreuzer, who missed the first half of 2012 after returning from a knee reconstruction and then missed the finals because of the cyst in his calf, also completed today's full training session, including some contested football.

Waite, who's 2011 season was cut short by hip surgery, did the bulk of the training drills, with forward coach John Barker declaring should be at full fitness by Round 1.
"Jarrad Waite's been doing a heap of running and not so much the full contact stuff, but he'll be filtered into full skills training in the next few weeks,'' Barker said.

"He's so important to our set-up. He's likely to play a NAB Cup game or two.''

Captain Chris Judd, midfielder Ed Curnow and big men Michael Jamison, Shaum Hampson and Robbie Warnock joined in the first part of training before being sent off to do some intensive running when contact drills began.

Re: 2012 Carlton Injury List Update

Carlton is definitely the HUNs flavour of 2012.

Re: 2012 Carlton Injury List Update

The comments of the anti-carlton brigade are funny.

The articles are getting a fair bit of attention.

HHa yep, they are ridiculous. Highly surprised that the muppets that write them know what the Internet is.

Rhys O'Keeffe
Another 10-12 weeks after 2 months in a boot?
What exactly happened to his foot?

This kid seriously can't catch a break! He is doing everything he can to get his body fit, and as soon as he's 100% something else happens!!
