2012 Membership Tally - Part2

Three simple requests for my fellow tigers in this tread to help us stop looking ridiculous:

1) we don't need 14 people to update the same bloody number, once is enough. Don't care if you are happy about the number, we read it the first time. Posting it again doesn't emphasize our membership superiority, just insecurity.

2) can we stick to official figures? Including numbers that we don't think have been announced yet, or our own personal estimation of the real numbers is stupid. We will get the final real number when the counts are done. In the meantime, be patient, and please just post the OFFICIAL numbers as was intended for the thread.

3) this is a thread to count ALL club memberships in 2012. Talk about how strong our membership will be when we win a flag is irrelevant, because we didn't win one in 2011, so it has nothing to do with 2012 membership numbers. Also if I'm sick and tired of reading "wait till we....." posts, sleeping giant posts, or "how awesome is our number given how crap our team is" posts, I can only imagine how other club supporters feel. I come here for membership numbers, not ra ra ra talk. If you want that, plenty of threads in the Bay or the Richmond board that are more appropriate.

There is plenty of material for other supporters to rip into us about given our crap 30 years, let's not add to it by becoming a bunch of annoying gnats as well

Bravo.

Though I think madtiger2006 is beyond this.

Absolutely

Because a jump of 10,000 (assuming the rest of the competition becomes completely static) is completely plausible, more so realistic

But hey, there are still some pretty enticing ground level seating available for the Richmond-Carlton game :thumbsu:

Hawthorn is now 52,165 (approximately 3500 up on this time last year)

Hopefully with games against Collingwood, Geelong and Adelaide at the MCG in the first 3 rounds we'll reach our 60,000 target.

ur post had merit at MadTiger until that quote "highlighted", AFL reserve all of M, N & P sold out only top deck "Q" on sale..... public reserve im not sure on exact numbers still a week and a half out from the game but come game day good luck trying to snag a seat unless its the top deck Q sec....

Oh well, I guess I shall start here (first post on BigFooty).

GWS Giants membership tally has increased to 7,541 (GWS Website).

It would have been great for GWS Giants to be at 10,000 members by Round 1 against Sydney Swans however that might be just a little bit out of reach.

Brisbane Lions membership tally has increased to 17,730 (Brisbane Website).

The Lions are not far away from their 2011 Membership Tally (approximately 3,000 away) so it looks like they will hopefully pass that mark at somepoint before the June 30 membership tally cut-off.

Gold Coast Suns membership tally has increased to 10,088 (Gold Coast Website).

Not a major increase by any means however Gold Coast will be aiming to reach for 15,000 members by the June 30 cut-off.

Geelong Cats membership tally has increased to 34,193 (Geelong Website).

Geelong will be wanting to aim for something hopefully above 40,000 members by the cut-off (42,000-45,000 perhaps?).

Does anyone know of Collingwood's and Fremantle's membership numbers? I know that it has been a question asked by quite a few people over this forum and it would be great to have all the clubs membership tallies together for the benefit of the forum.

Ultimately though, the 2012 AFL Season is nearly upon us. I am looking forward to the season beginning very shortly :)

Very impressed with Port's numbers, haven't followed them that closely but with all the negative talk around the financial health of their club you would think they wouldnt have nearly 32k members at this stage.
Hope it results in larger crowds for them.

St Kilda Saints have increased their membership tally to 29,101 (St Kilda Website).

GWS Giants have increased their membership tally to 7,612 (GWS Website).

Gold Coast Suns have increased their membership tally to 10,150 (Gold Coast Website).

Sydney Swans have increased their membership tally to 24,007 (Sydney Website).

Western Bulldogs have increased their membership tally to 24,434 (Western Bulldogs Website).

Here's a chart of the percentage of members each club has, if anyone is interested.
