Didn't Essendon make 2 million dollars more in revenue through Membership sales than the Hawks? I mean, name every dog, cat and bird, money is the true language businesses speak.

And it begins and it's not even season proper - same old, same old. I suppose the fact that they charge more isn't the reason for this difference and if I'm prepared to waste my money buying a full membership (hawks don't do pet memberships) for my pet why the hell would that worry you

Interesting figure from North board of where we've been at this point over the last few years. Shows how much work had to go into our membership department to get it up to scratch since JB etc took over.

2012 2/12/11: 10,582
2011 2/12/10: 9,330
2010 2/12/09: 5,782
2009 2/12/08: 2,840

Although renewal plays a part I firmly believe that it also gives others incentives to get on board and buy a membership when they see the tally rising. Good on north and its board at slowly but surely pushing the membership barrow and getting results.

And crucially, it frees up resources to target new members, reduce the "churn" factor.

Interestingly, a lot of the funding we're getting from the AFL is going into bringing our membership and associated marketing department up to league average.

It will be fascinating to see how that pans out.

The Dogs are usually above 10000+ early on but then it slows and our overall membership figure gets to about 30000. Hopefully this season we can get 35000 members which would be our highest membership in our clubs history but we have to wait and see.

I love the way Richmond fans think they have the right to troll other sides. Actually make the finals just once in the next decade before you talk smack. And it is just smack you talk, because it's a lie.

Here is the membership revenue for Hawthorn & Essendon in 2011 posted in the financials thread.

Hawthorn - $11,705,117 (inc. gate reciepts)
Essendon - $10,363,690 (inc. gate reciepts)

Keep on trying :thumbsu:

bloody hell are you the biggest hypocrite in bf? also would you like the bf bosses to ban all non top 4 fans? idiot comment.

thats an inflated figure

Amd why do you think that? GC had over 3500 at this time last year, plus the Giants had more foundation members than the Suns did. So why on earth would you think that's an inflated figure

You have to understand the point of old HyperDonk on the forum mate. Good old Donky is the court jester. Take him in the right spirit. BF would be a more reasonable less hypocritical but less enjoyable place without the spume flecked rantings and ravings of old HyperDonk.

Be good to see membership numbers at the same time last year next to these.

The attack might be warranted though by the good ol' 'cats and dogs' reference, which I believe was officially declared "Unfunny" by the UN in 1998.

We are 3,000 ahead of last year, which was our previous record

Putting aside automatic renewal, that's a pretty good sign that tiger supporters believe that hardwick is heading in the right direction and in turn, turning supporters into members

good stuff:thumbsu:

could that be from converting some of last year's non ticketed perhaps?

Yeah it's a good sign of optimism. We got 10,000 new members last year. Hopefully we are signing lapsed members who didn't sign last year and also further new members. We have to break the 50,000 barrier now. We are 15,000 behind Hawthorn though although we'll catch up a bit by the cut off date. The Hawks should aim for 60,000 in 2012. I'm hoping we get a win in the first month because the first month is the most important in selling memberships but we have to play the top teams for the 5th year in a row in the first 5 weeks. We'll be lucky to be 1 or 2 wins by Round 6. We are probably the biggest drop in memberships sales from Feb/March to April/May by a long way :p. Wish we played Gold Coast at the G in Round 1, that would get us to 55,000 probably lol
