Re: Player X v Player Y

I play in an ultimate footy league and I have a chance to trade Steven Motlop to get Mitch Clarke... Should I do it?

Re: Player X v Player Y

Beams vs Chapman as a fyfe replacement?

Leaning towards Beams as I think he is less likely to get rested...

I don't think that Geelong will have the luxury of resting stars this year. The competition for top four spots this year is too fierce.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Problem solved: Fyfe>Beams, D. Smith>Chapman :D

edit: reversed it already lol, don't like Chapman there for some reason...gah! Screw you DT I need get assignments done!!

Re: Player X v Player Y

My main question is Thompson v Mitchell for pure point scoring.

I prefer the draw Thompson has in DT finals so think I prefer him however

Thompson needs to be grabbed this week meaning cashing in a cow slightly early this week.

Mitchell I can wait 2 weeks and let my mid cows fatten a couple more weeks before trading..

Thought greatly appreciated but both will be bargain prices.

I'd consider both but that would leave me Swanless

Re: Player X v Player Y

Spider I would get Thompson, I know I've answered this in the trading thread but I think you can't go wrong here. He is a solid performer and if he didn't give away 4 free kicks on the w/e he would've cracked 150 with only 34 touches.
This is as low as he will go, and I'd sooner have Thompson and wait a few weeks for Swan to 'bottom' out again then pick Swan up, than waiting for Mitchell to bottom out...if you get me, that's pretty poor english but no-one wants a massive essay lol.

I think it will be worth cashing in an early cow to get Thompson, who will likely go up more than any given cow this week (assuming you trade out you're worst cow-actually, it depends who you would trade out, really).

Plus if your going for pure point scoring, better to get an extra gun in now rather than later.

Yes I do like Thompson, had him last year too.

My leaving cow would be Shiel, Magner or Greene. Clay smith I also have but I don't have the cash to upgrade him without a second trade.

I could also go Ablett to a forward (Chappy) and then Clay Smith upgrade to Thompson meaning I have Devon Smith to cash in on Horseley next week. (considering making the DPP link purely cos forward mids are Horrid downgrade options and Smith just about ready to cash in)

Re: Player X v Player Y

That sucks...why don't you just do it anyway and keep ablett instead? That way you can save that trade until you sideways a R11 premium to avoid a doughnut in the bye?

I still like Chappy in that trio you posted above. You can predict player 'general soreness' all you want but it is kinda random.

Maybe, will keep pondering. Shiel, Magner, Greene seem to be reasonable scorers, Thinking with Hall, Paine Treloar and Smith the money might be better spent in the forward line anyway. Mitchell will bottom out in 2 weeks anyway so if it doesn't work this week I have a fall back plan.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Chapman vs Beams vs Pearce

With chappy you know what you're getting but concerned about age with injury/rested.

Beams scored great last year and proven enough for the amount of games he's played. Ball going down will help. Collingwood have a tough draw (could be a good thing) and whether he's over his niggling injuries.

Pearce is unproven and barely played any games. I really like Fremantles draw, fyfe injured will help and has DT friendly game style.

Cash is not a problem

Re: Player X v Player Y

I'm going for league wins so I sort of have to. Maybe I'll do rockliff.

Atm my midfield is Ablett, Pendlebury, Thompson, Redden (FML), Magner, Luke Parker (for the cash). Shiel and Pfeiffer.

If I get Kennedy this week, in the next 2 weeks parker will be hitting 400k+ and Shiel will be ready to offload in 3 weeks... I will upgrade one back to ablett, the other to boyd or rockliff. leaving Ablett, Boyd, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Thompson, Redden.

Re: Player X v Player Y

Robinson, Beams, D. Smith

vs

Chapman, Beams, Stanley

...then i promise I'll shut up and pull the shotgun

Robbo and Chappy should both average around the same for the season...around about 100-105. So Chappy because he's 50k cheaper.
