Yeah, it looked good.
He even held his own out there against the best ruck duo in the league.

12 hitouts and 5 disposals vs 7 hitouts and 7 disposals.

You could even argue Maric won that matchup :thumbsu:

Every match of the NAB cup is exclusive to Fox Footy, except the GF which is on 7.

Only the first round of the NAB Cup will be televised in full, with selected games in round 2 and 3 televised on Fox Footy. With the exception of a game at North Ballarat in round 3, it will only be the games at AFL stadiums that will be televised.

Our 2nd round game against Brisbane in Alice Springs won't be televised but our 3rd round game against Collingwood at AAMI will be televised.

Good point. :thumbsu:

The main point though is that only one NAB Cup match will be on Free to Air.

firstly let me just say.. love any discussion, esp footy related, on our main board.

having said that I'd love feedback from the mods on the fact i've been told to keep feedback on adelaide player performance throughout the year on the sub-forums but non-crows stuff is on the main board... where are we heading with how we structure the board here?

When I see some boards having discussions about other clubs restricted to their own supporters only; I think the mods of those boards are complete twats.

If it is free and open to all then have at it.

Totally agree woopedazz.

Doesn't seem to be how the board is intending to be moderated this season based on some feedback from the mods. Seems to be a push to have some content pushed off the main board - I'm asking for clarification on what.

Persaonally updates on crows players seems more relevant than general footy discussion. But that's just my view.

Threads like these should be in The Backyard.. which is where this one will be residing shortly.

The main board is for discussing the AFC, threads specifically for discussing non-Crows related stuff belong elsewhere. That's not to say that they're not worthy of discussion, which is why we have "The Backyard".

Could we perhaps have another sub-forum for non-Crows football discussion, which would then leave the Backyard for non-football related discussion (with more of a social feel to it)?

Seems that the head honchos are trying to turn the BigFooty forums into a news service, more so than a discussion board.

They want people to head to BigFooty to get their footy news. The Adelaide main board needs to have the latest news and views about the goings on at the Adelaide Football Club and nothing else. Easy to find, easy to access.

Things that are interesting and amusing for a core group of BigFooty regulars only (eg draft games, poor attempts at comedy, chit chat about non-AFC related material etc) gets shunted to the Backyard or other sub forums.

Less of a community discussion board but perhaps more unique traffic.

I'm fine with this by the way - I'm not having a whinge. It just means that the 'community' aspects of BigFooty (banter, in jokes, de-railed threads, arguments) which I suspect is why most of us regulars come back here so often will take place in the Backyard, leaving the main AFC board uncluttered by the local shenanigans.

Sort of like the pubs that have undergone rennovations in order to appeal to women, families and the suit-and-tie-after-work crowd still retain a dinky little front bar, well out of view mind you, so that the regulars can still have a bet, a smoke and a beer in peace without lowering the standards.

I really don't see how 1 non crows football discussion thread is gonna clutter up the main board that much. It doesn't concern me to much, but does seem a touch anal. I also tend to agree with Carl. Does seem to be the way BF is heading. However, I think BF has to remember that it's strength lies in discussion not news. There's a million footy news sources, but less places for meaningful, knowledgeable discussion.

Where is this meaningful, knowledgeable discussion you talk about :D

I dont mind this here.
But I do find it ironic that this is here while the gws song thread is on the main board, along with the DVD thread.

GWS thread should be here so should this, DVD thread is 99% to do with the AFC and should be on the main board. It's not that hard.

DVD thread is close enough, given that most of the games being discussed are Crows games. I'm having a hard time making a case for keeping the GWS song thread on the main board though.

Back to some non-crows football discussion-

Was good to see Essendon get beaten easily on 2 occasions already. I know they probably had the toughest draw of the NAB cup, but hopefully that puts some of their delusional supporters back in their box. Really don't see them doing very well this year.

They did have a very inexperienced line up. I do agree though that I can see them having the same sort of season as 2010.
